Saco River Swimming Bringing water safety and swimming education to Mt. Washington Valley. ARC Lifeguard
Certified Level 2 in the Swim Whisperers® Program - Adaptive Aquatics Hi!

Certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor and licensed American Red Cross provider. My name is Robina. I am the owner and sole swim instructor of S**o River Swimming. Originally from the NH Seacoast, I moved with my family to Conway, NH in 2023. I'm excited to bring swim lessons, coaching, and water safety instruction to the Mt. A little about me:

I have been a swimmer my entire life.

I grew up accompanying my mom while she taught swim lessons in backyard pools. When she began coaching, I eventually joined the Portsmouth Swim Team and swam with them competitively throughout my youth. I continued to swim in college at the University of Puget Sound where I specialized in mid-distance backstroke. After moving back to NH, I joined the Great Bay Masters swim team and regularly swam with them until our move north. Water Safety is extremely important to me. I started lifeguarding for the City of Portsmouth at 15 and began teaching American Red Cross swim lessons the following year. I have been involved with water safety instruction and coaching ever since. In 2011, I started coaching with the Portsmouth Swim Team. My coaching experience led me to an assistant coaching position with the Portsmouth High School swim team and a seasonal head coaching position with the Surf Club in Rye, NH. I have learn-to-swim educational experience and competitive swim coaching experience with all ages from infants to adults. In 2025, I received certification for adaptive aquatics as well. It'll be slow to start, but my goal is to eventually be able to meet the needs of the region with year-round instruction from youth swim lessons to triathlon and open water swim training. Please feel free to reach out with any interest or questions! Group lessons are provided year-round and I am working on incorporating more time for private lessons. Watch this page and sign up for emails to be the first to know when registrations open.

Today is the last day of swim lessons for the summer ☀️

Between group and private lessons I had the privilege of teaching over 120 kids this summer 🤯 Thank you all so much for swimming with me! We are building a safer community together 🛟🐳

🌊🌊🌊

I am taking some much needed time off in August. Stay tuned for private lesson offerings in September, and the next group session will start in October. I will have details emailed out soon!

Do we still swim on rain days? Yes! 🌦️🌈

As long as there is no thunder, and conditions are otherwise safe, we still swim. Swimming in the rain is one of my favorite things to do, and I often find the kids love it as well!

Tips for rain days- bring extra towels and warm clothes and leave them in the car. Rain jackets and umbrellas are recommended for spectators.

If rain swimming is not for you, you can take advantage of a make-up class at Echo Lake. The first week of August is our last week of classes!

I (Miss Robina) am participating in Tri for a Cure in Portland this weekend. It’s been so much fun training and working on my open water swimming. 🏊🏼‍♀️🐠🌊

A portion of all proceeds from my adult swim classes this spring went towards my fundraiser for the Maine Cancer Foundation and I’m very proud to say I’ve raised over $1000 😱 That’s double my original goal! I never dreamed that I would raise that much in just a few short months. Thank you to everyone who has donated and supported me so far!

And a big THANK YOU to all of the adult swim participants I’ve coached this last year. From the beginners who are taking a big step out of their comfort zone in learning to swim to the triathletes who are working to be more confident and efficient - I am always so inspired by you all and it’s been so much fun working and swimming with you 💗

Tri For A Cure is coming up this weekend and hundreds of women will swim, bike and run to help raise millions of dollars to fight cancer and provide support to patients in Maine. FULL STORY ⬇️

Before you buy your kids' swimsuits for the season, think about visibility. 🩱🛑
The Reality: Drowning is the #1 leading cause of death for children ages 1–4 in the U.S. (Source: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).

Because water emergencies happen fast and silently, your eyes need to be able to lock onto your child instantly.
❌ Skip these: Blues, greens, whites, and dark neutrals. They mimic water reflection or look like shadows/debris at the bottom.
✅ Buy these: Neon orange, neon pink, neon yellow, and bright red. Testing shows these maintain the highest visibility under water and through splashes.

Swimsuit color isn't a substitute for designated water watchers and swim lessons—but it is a simple, lifesaving layer of protection.

Spread the word to save a life. 💙
