Hello MWV Curlers,

September 2nd is our very first time on the ice this season. (Start time 6:45 pm - 8:45 pm) (ice prep 6:20pm ) Although league play doesn't start until September 9th, we have ice time reserved on the 2nd. This is a great time to meet your team, get some practice, and organize an impromptu game. There will also be a Learn to Curl event.

Learn to Curl - if you know anyone who you think would enjoy curling, please invite them to the learn to curl event. We are keeping this to a small event, just on one sheet, so we're not doing any wider advertisement than talking to acquaintances. Please ask them to register with me by emailing [email protected]. There will be a $20 fee to participate, but this will be credited to membership fees if they join the fall session.

Questions - Please email me with questions you have about September 2nd, the fall session, or anything else that's on your mind.

Registration is now open for 2026 GNCC Women's Championship Bonspiel! Gather your team and get registered for the first bonspiel of the 2026-2027 curling season, October 9-11, 2026 in Rochester, NY. This USWCA circuit event is being hosted by Rochester Curling Club, with a guaranteed 3 games and a team entry fee of $480 (all meals included). Come join the fun on the front end of next season!

Hello MWV Curlers,

With the fall season right around the corner, it’s time to get back on the ice! Here are the details to help you prepare for the 2026–2027 season:

Schedule & Ice Time

Time: Wednesdays, 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM (all season long)

Fall Dates: Every Wednesday in September and October

Remainder of Season: Dates for the rest of the 2026–2027 season will be shared soon. We plan to run three leagues again this year.

Upcoming Events

Wednesday, Sept 2 (Practice & Warm-Up): Open ice for all members. Use this time to work on your delivery, sweeping, or basic strategy—or jump into a pick-up game. (Interested in the physics of curling? Ask Chris for a quick lesson!)

Wednesday, Sept 9 (Fall Season Kickoff): First official game of the fall season.

Registration Registration details will be sent out shortly.

Some great stuff happened last night at our annual MWVCC Members meeting. Some got a trophies Sherry Marceau Shirley Belding Alessandroni , Eileen Neal, and Susan C. Bennett 1st place winners and Champs of the 2025-2026 season. .... someone had a stone dedication.... the honor goes to Chris Polluck, who recently hung up her Broom.....we all thank Chris for sharing her Curling Secret Skills to so many people over the years ... Her love of Curling surrounds her very being. Thank you Chris! President Paul Valle announced that after 10 years of dedicated office that he is ready to let someone else pick up the League's Head Stone.... Congratulations to Chris Strahler who was elected as our New President ! Also elected and congratulations goes to Eileen Neal,VP; Rachel Flaksman, Secretary; and Jeff Bouvier Treasurer . Some Broomstacking was shared by our members. We are looking forward to our upcoming season. Watch for Fall sign ups! Thank you for reading this lengthy newsletter! Hello MWVCC members and friends. Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer. It's been a while since we have met up on the ice at Ham Arena.... so let's try to meet up at Almost There Restaurant for our members annual meeting . An email went out from the board. So check your emails for complete info. This is a time to get together and vote for open seats on our Board , broomstack, have some cheer and catch up on happenings. Hope to see you on June 25th!
