The cross country team is off to great start, kicking off their season Tuesday with a successful home meet:

🥈The boys varsity team placed second overall, with Kelton Hines winning first individually.
🥉The girls varsity team placed third overall. In the open race, ICS also had impressive results from the boys and girls teams.

On Wednesday, ICS hosted another meet. Instead of lacing up their running shoes, the Crusaders supported the race by working as course marshals and selling snow cones.

Friday night, the Crusaders headed to Mascoutah for one of the biggest meets of the season.

🏆Facing against 19 other small schools, the ICS girls varsity team took first place. Isla Braun earned a second place finish individually.

🏆In the boys varsity race, Kelton Hines won first over all schools (small and large). Kelton also broke the 2-mile course record that he set last year, with a time of 10:19. The ICS boys varsity team took second place out of the 20 small schools.

🏃‍♂️ We Need Your Help! Volunteer for Our Upcoming Cross Country Meets! 🏁

Our runners are ready to hit the trails, but we can't make these meets happen without our amazing community. We are looking for energetic volunteers to help us ensure a safe, fun, and successful event for all the athletes!

🗓️ Dates: Tuesday, August 25th & Wednesday, August 26th
📍 Location: ICS

Available Positions:
*Course Marshals (Directing runners and cheering them on!)

*Parking/Setup Team (Helping families find parking and getting the course ready)

*Concession Stand (Selling snacks and drinks)

No previous cross country experience is necessary. We will give you a quick briefing before the meet starts!
