🔥 A NEW TRADITION HAS ARRIVED! 🔥

This season, we kicked things off with something special — a tradition dedicated to celebrating the grit, growth, and heart of our dancers!

First off, we were honored to have Coach Shelley at our very first performance (tryouts at the end of April 💥) We are so grateful for her mentorship. It has made the transition go smoothly. Thank you for everything!

Day 1 wasn’t easy — new technique, constant feedback, and moments that would’ve made many want to quit. But not them. They showed up. They listened. They worked — even outside of practice. And it SHOWED.

Over just 3 days, we watched our dancers push through challenges, embrace correction, and show what true dedication looks like.

We want to highlight two new team members that stood out during our workshops and at the tryout! They exemplified dedication, discipline and grit! 💪🏼

✨ Odalys took the floor at Monday’s tryout with confidence, shining with strong facials! 🤩

✨ Zuri went from learning beginner technique to confidently hitting her counts — and nearly landing a TRIPLE! 🔥

And behind all of this growth is something just as powerful — LEADERSHIP.

We are incredibly thankful for our upperclassmen who have been such a blessing and vital piece to this team already. They’ve set the tone, modeled what true leadership looks like, and poured into our new dancers every step of the way. Their encouragement, patience, and example are helping build something truly special. 🖤❤️

THAT is what this team is about.
THAT is what growth looks like.

We are beyond proud. Watching the confidence build, the strength grow, and the passion come alive in ALL of our dancers has us so excited for what’s ahead.

Tonight was the end of the year team banquet & the last for Karleigh & Shelley, As they end their time as coaches for the team. We’ll always be here to support & help the team. This year has been special & very memorable, lots of laughs & tears & wouldn’t trade it for the world. Tonight’s banquet was bittersweet.
We gave out Fun awards with a small gift, end-of-the-year team gifts, three team voted awards & a senior ceremony to end the banquet.
Most improved – Lily Calhoun
Rookie of the year -Aidan Finley
Most valuable dancer -Sami Duke

Also recognized during the banquet was Tania Rivas for receiving a rising star at the O’Fallon comp.,
Sami Duke, Aidan Finley & Lynnette Rivas were named to the 8CA All state dance team.

Scholar athlete awards went to Lily Calhoun, Sami Duke, Kylie Fillinger, Aidan Finley, Ruby Hill, Maryann Imhoff, Nala Johnston, KJ Phillips, Lynnette Rivas, Tania Rivas, & Savannah Robbins

The coaches came up with fun awards that described the team & things that happened throughout the year:

The calm, cool & unimpressed award - KJ Phillips
The one foot out the door & one foot stuck in the stall award- Lynnette River
Dislocated but dedicated award-Amelia Higgerson
The team anchor award - Sami Duke
Head like a brick heart like gold award - Aidan Finley
The I’ll do it, but I’ll complain about it. Award - Savannah Robbins
The beautiful disaster award - Tania Rivas
The shy surprise package award - Lily Calhoun

The hold on I’m processing it award or otherwise known as I’ll try it after I overthink it award - Mariann Imhoff
The joined late shine fast award - Kylie Fillinger

We ended the ceremony with a senior sendoff. We had candles lit that had the saying, “and suddenly you know it’s time to start something new & trust in the magic of new beginnings”. Each senior blew out their candle, symbolizing the end of their journey with us & moving towards something new & it concluded the end of our banquet.

The Varsity 8countaudio All State Dance team celebration routine.

This past Sunday, most of the team went up to Plainfield Central high school to support Sami Duke, Aidan Finley, and Lynnette Rivas as they performed in the 8 Count Audro All State dance team celebration. They were chosen from coach nominations to represent their teams for the state of Illinois. They’ve learned a routine in 3 days that they performed with all other dancers that were chosen. It was a great weekend and so much fun for the whole team. From the bus ride, to the hotel stay, to our random stops, our dinner, outings, etc. There was never a boring moment. You guys were a blast. I am so proud to represented you guys as your coach. Sami, Aidan and Lynnette you’ve made us all proud. You represented us very well.

CONGRATULATIONS to team members Aidan Finley, Lynnette Rivas, and Sami Duke for being nominated to the 6th Annual 8CA All-Star dance team. All dancers are invited to attend and participate in the 2026 8CA All-Star celebration on Sunday, March 1st at Plainfield Central High School. Each dancer will be individually introduced and presented with an All-Star certificate.

Celebrated our seniors tonight! Your last high school dance performance. It’s been a fun and crazy ride, from sweating at Cardinal games, to fighting off bats at practice, to having a wrestling match between a teammate and a coach, to knee popping experiences at practice, getting stuck in bathroom stalls, and maybe falling in the toilet, to the bus leaving for competition with a girl sleeping in her car and forgetting her, we can say this year has truly been unforgettable. We wish you the best in your next chapter of life.

The Last Dance…….
Come celebrate our seniors tonight as they perform their final time with the Dupo Dance Team.
We will celebrate all seniors between the JV and varsity game then at varsity halftime we will have a team performance and end with a final performance from our seniors. Hope to see you all there!
