EWU’s College of Professional Programs brought the Halloween spirit with their fifth annual Pet Costume Contest! 🎃🐾 From a distraught pizza cat to a Target employee pup, the competition was fierce. For the first time ever, the "Best in Show" title went to three horses, Reno, Bo**er, and Sugar, dressed as characters from the Wizard of Oz. 🐴🌪️ Congratulations to the School of Business for taking home the participation trophy!

EWU is making thoughtful investments in the future of our campus and our students.

Plans for our new $50.2 million Dryden Hall are coming into sharper focus. This five-story, 392-bed residence hall is designed to promote a sense of belonging and improve academic outcomes by providing students with the modern amenities they have asked for. Designed by NAC Architecture to achieve LEED Silver certification, this project also reinforces our commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency.

This development is part of nearly $250 million in capital improvements across EWU, including a health sciences hub in Spokane, campus wide energy upgrades and Roos Field enhancements. We are also incredibly proud to retain the Dryden Hall name, honoring the legacy of influential history professor and author Cecil Pearl Dryden.

EWU’s Counseling and Wellness Services just opened a new student well-being hub on the main floor of Tawanka Hall.

This welcoming space serves as a central location for basic needs assistance, financial counseling and health promotion. Students can study in the lounge, decompress in the sensory room, visit the interfaith prayer room, or even book a session with Hoonah the campus therapy dog.

What a spectacular evening, Eagle Nation! We had a fantastic time welcoming the Cheney community back to campus last Friday for Hometown Harvestfest, Spooky Science and the much-anticipated return of the E.W. Boo! Trick-or-Treat Trail.

A huge thank you to the Office of Community Engagement, our student volunteers, and community partners for making it such a memorable night.

The historic Sigma Nu "castle" on College Avenue is getting a major update!

For over a century, this 1897 home has been a Cheney landmark. Now, the members of Eastern's Sigma Nu fraternity are working hard to restore its original luster. From repairing fences and drywall to adding period-appropriate trim, these students are preserving a piece of local history while building a strong brotherhood.

Getting involved on campus pays off! At this year's Neighborfest, two Eastern Washington University students won $1,000 scholarships sponsored by the EWU Alumni Association. Congratulations to Haleigh Camberg, a dental hygiene major, and Nathan Johnson, a senior studying mathematics education!

These awards help our students focus on their studies and embrace campus life. Funding for these scholarships is made possible by our amazing alumni community through Eagle license plate sales, Eagle Flights W**e Club memberships and individual donations.

Hoops season is almost here! 🏀🦅

The energy was incredible at Saturday's Red Turf Nation Engagement Zone as our Women's and Men's Basketball teams connected with the community and signed autographed posters for our amazing Eagle fans!

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to meet the players, grab a poster and show their support before kickoff. Let’s bring that same spirit to the stands this season!

On Saturday, we celebrated a major milestone for Spokane County's Team by breaking ground on Phase 2 of the Roos Field stadium renovations. 🏈🏗️

This $8 million investment will bring a new elevated press box to the east side of the stadium.

Construction begins next year, with completion scheduled for the 2028 football season. As President Shari McMahan noted, this project positions Eastern for the future and elevates the game-day experience for our entire community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate the continued growth of our campus.
