Charleston Softball All State Honors
The Charleston softball team is coming off a 17-12 record and an appearance in the Regional Finals. For this effort, the Lady Trojans had three players garner All-State Honors for the Illinois Coaches Association.
Senior Avery Beals was named to the first team. Beals hit .658 on the season with 71 hits and 20 RBI’s. She also stole 48 bases this past season.
Lanie Keefer was named to the second team. Just a sophomore, Keefer led Charleston with 12 home runs and 61 RBI’s. She had 50 hits and recorded a team high 17 doubles.
Raylin Cox, a junior, was named to the third team. Cox was second on the Lady Trojans in home runs with 9 and RBI’s with 47. She had a team high of 7 wins in the pitching circle.
The season ended for Charleston with a 7-5 Regional Final loss to Chatham-Glenwood. The Titans finished with a record of 30-3 and were second in the state in Class 3A.
