We are super excited to introduce you to our Fall 2026 Team! As we finalize the last details, we want to give a huge Lion's ROAR to our friends at Black Dog Farms! The Rhodes family have been huge supporters of our program since our first season. We are happy to have them along for the journey in '26/'27 school year and beyond!

First day of school for our Freshmen and then tryouts for our Fall Club Season tonight. Once again, a nice blend of returning faces and a couple new faces as well. Our student atheltes have been putting in the work and it shows! Monster scores hit the board tonight. To protect the integrity of the tryout process, we have to keep it quiet for a few days. But we will definitely be sharing about tonight when we can.

Here's what I know, this year's Fall and Spring seasons are shaping up to be something special! Strong work to all our student athletes giving it a shot tonight.

Tonight we give a huge Lion's Roar to Dependable Pest Management! The team at Dependable has proven to us that we can count on them to add to our success. Our friends all had an amazing day at the Eastern Shore Open ATA Trap Shoot we mentioned earlier!!

Shout out to Colby Heiser ('29) for winning D Class Singles with an impressive 95/100. Colby also was the high Junior in Doubles.

Hunter Rhodes ('29) tied for 1st in Junior Handicaps and went into a shootoff with Team alumni Cole Coppage, with them both posting 97/100. Cole got the upper hand in overtime, but a great showing none the less.

Taylor Jordan ('27) won 2nd in Lady's Doubles and Handicaps, and 3rd in Lady's Singles.

And team little brother Brett Powell posted up and impressive 98/100 to win B Class singles, after +23 and +25 shootoff rounds.

Strong showings all around. Shout out to Holden Jarrell ('27) and Brayden Williams ('29) for great outings today as well. For almost all these kids, this was their first go at Handicaps and Doubles in a competitive trap shooting event. We are proud of their drive and initiative to put in that extra work. That is the measure that separates good and great!

Good representation from all our youth programs today. QACHS, Kent Island, Kent County, CCA, Mid Shore Smoke Show, and Triple Shots 4-H were all represented by youth shooters today!

Some of our student athletes braved the weather today to participate in the Eastern Shore Open ATA Trap shoot held at the Sudlersville S***t Club. While not a team or school sanctioned event, these kids took the initiative to jump in and compete with the big guys! A great showing for our team!! Our kids kept pace with many world class trap shooters today. We appreciate their heart and dedication to the sport.

We wrapped up Week 1 of Tryouts tonight with another great showing!! Again tonight, a blend of new faces and familiar; some shooting their second sessions, and some shooting their first. We give our student athletes two tryout sessions, as we recognize everyone can have an off day and that doesn't define their abilities. Great shooting all around tonight. We go back to it next Monday for our last three days.

Tonight, we recognize one of our first, longest, and largest sponsors: the Wye Oak Longspurs Nwtf Chapter! From day one, the great folks at NWTF Wye Oak have had our back and been great supporters! THANK YOU for all you have and continue to do for our team and all youth shooting sports across the midshore!

Tryouts continued tonight for our Fall 2026 Club Season! We had a full house tonight with ten student athletes giving it their best! Some new faces tonight, to go with some returning student athletes. They all did a phenomenal job!

We have been REALLY slacking on our Sponsor Spotlights. So let's get back on track and welcome Superior Mosquito Control to the QACHS Clay Target family! Locally owned and operated, Superior is your go to to control those pesky backyard mosquitos! Give Mr John and his team a call and they'll get it done for you, just like they show up for our Team! Thanks John and welcome to the family!

Try-outs for our Fall Club season kicked off last night. Wild weather caused a couple delays, but we stuck it out and were able to finish. Strong showing for our first squad out.

Note the progress happening around Sudlersville S***t Club! Some wood repair and a fresh coat of paint all around! Thank you for making the club top notch for our kids!
