We hope everyone is enjoying their summer. We are looking forward to another amazing year for Centreville Middle School's FCA huddle. We will again be meeting on Tuesday mornings at 7:30 in the Gymnasium. Our first huddle will be Tuesday, September 15th. If there are any CMS students who are looking to be leaders for this year, or if any parent is looking for ways they can help, please contact Mr. Hayman. In the meantime, please share this page with any interested parents or students. FCA is open to any student at Centreville Middle School. You do not have to be an athlete to attend. FCA consists of a game and Bible lesson that is student led as well as several out of school activities throughout the year. If any student has a question they may go to Mr. Hayman (8th Grade SS - Room A1) as he is our Huddle Coach. Be sure to be on the lookout for our table at Back to School Night! We look forward to another amazing year and we are excited to see what God will do with this amazing group.

Reminder - Due to 8th Grade Promotion, there will not be FCA tomorrow, Tuesday, June 16th. We look forward to seeing returning CMS students next year. We have enjoyed our time with our advancing 8th Graders. Good luck at QACHS (Remember - their FCA meetings are Friday mornings). Make sure to follow us this summer for updates about the upcoming school year.

With the delayed opening tomorrow, we will not be having FCA. Below is a devotional students can do during the delay. We look forward to seeing everyone next Tuesday, March 3rd at 7:30!!

A delayed opening is a perfect chance to pause and find peace, reminding middle schoolers that God is in control of their schedule and timing. Instead of rushing or stressing, this extra time is a gift to "be still," trust that delays are often "divine redirections," and start the day with calm, focused prayer.

Devotional: "The Holy Pause"
Scripture: "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens." — Ecclesiastes 3:1

Reflection:

A 90 minute delay can feel like a disruption, especially if you had a big test or just wanted to see your friends. But in the middle of this unexpected, quiet morning, remember that God is not surprised by the weather or a shift in plans. Sometimes, a "delay" is actually God’s protection or a way to prepare us for something later in the day.

Waiting can be hard, but it is often when God does His best work in us, helping us to not rely on our own schedules, but on His perfect timing.

Actionable Steps:
Stop & Breathe: Instead of immediately checking your phone, take 30 seconds to just breathe and thank God for an extra hour of sleep or quiet.

Let Go of Control: Literally open your hands and imagine handing your school stress (the homework, the drama, the test) over to God.

Refocus: Ask God to help you see the good in this day, even if it feels different than you planned.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for this extra time this morning. I confess I get frustrated when my plans change. Help me to trust that You are in control of my day, my schoolwork, and my friendships. Give me peace, remove any anxiety, and help me to be a light when I finally walk into school. Amen.

Rise Up Tough

READY:
“I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world.” – John 16:33

SET:
You’ve heard your coach say, “BE TOUGH!” As an athlete, you know what he means. It’s an encouragement to rise above the pain that could keep you from achieving your highest level of success.

Sometimes as a competitor, you’ll face mental challenges and have to fight emotions that bring discouragement and hopelessness. There will be times when you endure an injury that could bring physical pain and make you question whether or not you want to keep playing. Being tough is an attitude that allows you to push through mental and physical challenges that might cause others to give up.

But as a Christian athlete, the phrase, “BE TOUGH,” carries a deeper meaning that can give you success in every circumstance of life. The words of Jesus Christ in John 16:33 should be a constant reminder that He has provided a supernatural covering that will help you rise up when hard times come.

He says, “Be courageous! I have conquered the world.” Jesus reminds us that adversity will come. Hard times in life will come. The question is, when will those times come? As a competitor for Christ you no longer have to worry about the answer to that question because you know that He will be right beside you.
