GOOD EVENING FROM TPM!

Any Bob Schmidt fans in the 319?

He was my sophomore baseball coach in the summer of 1992.

I’ll recall a story from a warm summer day.

A doubleheader was fast approaching and I was running late because I was watching ‘The Young and The Restless.’

I ran out to the field slightly concerned about my tardiness.

I told Coach Schmidt I was late because I was watching ‘The Young and The Restless’ and I lost track of time.

He proceeded to ask me a handful of questions related to the show he used to watch too!

We both said it was our favorite.

He thought it was the most realistic soap opera out of all of them.

I’m glad I played the game of baseball…

BUT

I’m even more glad I had Coach Schmidt.

We had lots of fun playing Baseball that summer with some great guys…

AND

Some great conversations about soap operas!

Some people are very concerned about establishing a ‘meaning’ to their life.

Others, constantly searching for ‘identity.’

You do you.

Life and all its wonders is enough for me to know my ‘meaning’

AND

Turn my ‘identity’ into ‘involvement.’

If you have a strong foundation of love, light, and compassion within you…

You need no meaning or identity to show the world you are shining bright!

GOOD EVENING FROM TPM!

This week’s ’PROFILE OF AN ELEVATED ERNIE’ goes to THE ‘Best Server I’ve Ever Had’, Nicholas!

Nicholas was our server at the most delicious restaurant in Jerome, Arizona, ‘The Haunted Pizano.’

Authentic Italian and handmade traditions at their finest.

Our food was EXCELLENT!

I highly recommend it if you are in the Sedona area.

Nicholas reminded me of Bill Hader with a wit and warmth to match the humor.

He eloquently explained all of our options for lunch and ended with a catchy phrase about the place saying, “it’s good food at the end of the day.” 

Damn good food!

He sounded like he was from New York.

Turns out he was born and raised in nearby Cottonwood, Arizona.

While offering us cheese he said “a little cheese never hurt anybody” and made it sound just right.

I especially appreciated his humor when he asked us about our food.

How was it he’d ask.

TERRIBLE…

DISGUSTING…

AWFUL…

He always got those words in before we could answer.

A fun dining experience was had by all.

Nicholas is a professional.

He is so kind and thoughtful.

So funny and a natural conversationalist.

The Haunted Pizano is 💯 worth the visit if you are in Jerome, Arizona!

If you go, please tell Nicholas I said, HI!

Remember everyone, let’s all try to be like ‘ELEVATED ERNIE’…

GOOD MORNING FROM TPM!

This entryway to this fishing dock was overgrown and not tended to for many weeks.

My son had walked over earlier in the day and made note of this.

Later that evening, he said he wanted to go clean it up.

I went with him.

He spent 30 minutes busting his buns clearing it out.

Others will undoubtedly enjoy the smooth entryway to the dock.

My son is available the last couple weeks of summer vacation.

If anyone needs any yardwork done let me know.

He is extremely detailed.

Find something in your life to be extremely detailed about.

Tend to it.

Build it or tear it down.

Start fresh.

GOOD EVENING FROM TPM!

I remember when my dad bought this 1988 Ford Ranger brand new.

It’s been in our family for 38 years!

The Ranger has a lot of memories attached to it!

Grandma and Grandpa’s place on the farm.

Trout fishing in Northeast Iowa.

Chopping firewood.

Sledding.

The Ranger has 112k miles on it!

Each day that goes by we get more memories…

SO

Let’s put on some miles to make some new stories!

Yesterday was a blessed time to celebrate my brothers CANCER FREE status!

Thank you to cousin Amy for the opportunity to have it at your beautiful pool and oasis! 

Thanks mom and dad for the tasty food from Smokey D’s!
