Great article from Pinal County Dispatch about this coming weekend's Track Day Massacre at the Podium Club:
CASA GRANDE — If you happen to spot Frankenstein, Dracula or the Wolfman riding a very fast motorcycle at the Podium Club at Attesa racetrack this weekend, don’t be alarmed.
It’s all part of the Halloween fun as the fourth annual Track Day Massacre returns for three days of motorcycle action and festivities.
The event, running from Friday through Sunday, will bring hundreds of motorcycle enthusiasts to Casa Grande for a weekend combining high-speed track activities with Halloween festivities, costume contests and family entertainment.
Organizers are expecting one of the largest gatherings of motorcycle enthusiasts in Arizona this year, with Saturday’s Halloween celebrations providing plenty of opportunities for spectators to join in the fun.
Podium Club Director of Business Development Jayson Citron told PinalCentral the event has grown into a major attraction for motorcycle enthusiasts, bringing together riders from Arizona and other parts of the country.
Citron, who also co-owns Brake Free Track Time with Jim Joyce, said the event was established through a partnership with Apex Assassins of Nevada and Colorado-based Legion Moto.
“In our industry, typically organizations operate in silos. We all kind of do our own thing. So, in the spirit of ‘let’s do something grand,’ we partnered with Apex Assassins. They’re based out of Nevada, and Legion Moto, which is based out of Colorado,” explained Citron.
The collaboration has helped establish what Citron describes as Arizona’s largest motorcycle track event of the year.
Approximately 150 riders are expected each day, with some participating throughout the three-day event. Citron confirmed that all available riding places had sold out, although spectators are welcome to attend free of charge.
Unlike traditional motorcycle racing, Track Day Massacre provides riders of varying experience levels with an opportunity to test their skills in a controlled environment.
The Podium Club’s 2.32-mile, 15-turn road circuit will accommodate riders in different skill groups, with structured 20-minute track sessions and coaching available for those looking to improve their riding abilities.
According to Citron, the event is not a competitive race, and participants are grouped according to their experience and riding ability.
“What makes the racetrack safe is when everybody is going at a similar pace and there’s not a huge variation in pace.”
Participants range from newcomers experiencing a racetrack for the first time to advanced riders, including amateur and experienced road racers.
Citron said the opportunity to ride on a professional racing circuit could be particularly rewarding for newcomers who have never experienced the challenges of negotiating corners and developing their riding skills at higher speeds.
“Given the right facility, given the right training and the right resources, it’s very exciting to come in and be like, ‘I never thought I could do this,’” he said.
While motorcycles will dominate the track throughout the weekend, the Halloween celebrations are expected to provide some unusual sights for spectators.
Citron said the visiting riders embrace the event’s Halloween theme by dressing in costumes, with previous years featuring everything from Nintendo video game characters Mario and Luigi to a rider dressed as a piñata.
“We’ve done a couple different variations of spooky. This year we’re going for fun,” Citron said, revealing that his own family was considering dressing as characters from the comedy movie “The Hangover.”
Saturday will be the main day for spectators, with food trucks, vendors, music, costume contests and Halloween activities continuing into the evening.
Children will also have an opportunity to participate in trick-or-treating activities throughout the paddock, collecting candy from participating motorcycle pit areas.
Citron said the event is designed to create a welcoming and fun atmosphere for families as well as motorcycle enthusiasts.
“We really focus on Saturday being the day where we are heavy on the spectator side. All of our food vendors will be here, all of our traditional vendors will be here and all of the activities leading into the evening.”
The event will also feature motorcycle-related vendors, including Tucson-based European motorcycle dealer On Any Moto.
Other vendors will provide motorcycle photography and video services, while attendees will have opportunities to meet the riders and take selfies around the circuit.
Citron said the event has developed a reputation extending beyond Arizona.
“We’ve had folks from North Carolina, we have folks from literally all over the country. We’ve even had some international participants come out,” Citron said.
The event also provides an opportunity for non-members to experience the Podium Club, which operates primarily as a private motorsports facility with more than 260 members.
Citron said public events such as Track Day Massacre make the facility more accessible to motorcycle enthusiasts who might otherwise be unable to experience its racing circuit.
Podium Club Marketing Director Bill Tybur said the facility also provides opportunities throughout the year for motorists and motorcycle enthusiasts who have never experienced driving or riding on a racetrack.
“If you have a roadworthy motorcycle or a car, you can come out for a half day and not have to be a member. You can go out for a full day and not be a member,” Tybur said.
He added that the experience allowed participants to develop their driving skills while enjoying the excitement of being on a professional racing circuit.
“It’s a lot of fun for people who have always wondered, ‘What would it be like to be on a racetrack in my car or on my motorcycle?’ This is how you find out.”
Citron said the Podium Club has enjoyed an exceptional 12 months, with strong demand for track bookings and continued improvements to its facilities.
Recent developments include additional shaded areas for participants and spectators, while the venue has also expanded its amenities for members and their families.
Looking ahead, Citron said the Podium Club hopes to expand its driver and rider training academy and eventually attract national-level motorsports competitions.
He said further infrastructure improvements would be required before the facility could accommodate larger racing events.
For now, however, attention is focused on the Halloween weekend celebrations and providing an enjoyable experience for riders and spectators.
“Spectators are welcome to come out with admission and parking set at the best price, which is free,” Citron said.
The 2026 Track Day Massacre will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Sunday, with Saturday’s activities continuing until 10 p.m. Motorcycle track sessions will take place between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day.
The Podium Club at Attesa is located at 6870 S. Bianco Road on the western edge of Casa Grande.
