This is interesting! Is most of your work a step away from your truck or miles?

2 years ago we had one of the best trackers in the country that resides in Ohio call us during the season. He wanted to know how many tracks we had currently run, when I responded “84” he immediately said “I thought you all were full time trackers, I ran 119 so far!”
Why were we running 40 tracks behind his pace? Our headquarters is at the red arrow. Most of our tracks our a long hike or a long ATV ride from a parking spot. It’s a struggle to get 3 tracks in a day just because of terrain.
I think our drone guys are learning the same thing. You see the Midwest drone operators on YouTube slamming out call after call, it doesn’t work that way in West Virginia. You might have to hike your drone in a mile before you can launch.
Our mountains and inaccessible areas are a very much a limiting factor on producing “numbers”.
What are some of the longest hikes or rides you have taken to start a track or flight? For us it was an hour ride by sxs. We started at daylight. Then we hiked down a mountain for 45 minutes to start the track. Found the deer and helped drag the buck 2 hours downhill. The hunter dropped us off at our vehicle at dark! 10 hours of work!
