If you ever wondered what it would sound like to snap a HELLbender rod… I got you covered! Here’s proof that no matter how great these rods are, they aren’t indestructible when you make mistakes. Set the hook WAAAY to hard (when my inner excited little boy came out of nowhere 😆) which had me in a horribly high position for this fight with the carp. Wasn’t able to get the rod down horizontally in time to fight his run…and he stole my lunch money before I could salvage it! Broke the #2 section in two places, just above the handle section and about 2/3 of the way up, as well as fractured the length between the two. The #4 section snapped in the whiplash collision with the water surface. Line luckily popped off the lillian saving sections #5+ from getting dragged off into the depths.

Put the new Kaida zx320 pack rod to the test yesterday… managed to get a 22 inch, 4.75 pound hog into the net to my surprise 😳 as well as a 17 inch, 2.25 pounder just a short time prior.
