🦌 EXCITING NEWS FOR MARYLAND HUNTERS!
I’m excited to announce that Nighthawk Drone Services is teaming up with Longspur for the 2026 deer recovery season!
What excites me most about teaming up with Longspur is the group of professionals behind it.
This is a team of experienced tracking dog handlers, drone pilots, hunters, and recovery professionals who understand shot placement, deer behavior, tracking, thermal technology, and recovery strategy.
And we all have the same goal: give the hunter the best possible chance of recovering their animal.
That starts before a dog ever hits the track or a drone goes into the air.
If you make a questionable shot and aren't sure what to do next, give one of us a call before you start searching. Tell us what happened, where you believe you hit, what the deer did after the shot, and what you're seeing at the hit site. Sometimes a conversation with an experienced recovery professional can completely change how you approach that track.
Sometimes the right answer is to wait.
Sometimes it's time for a tracking dog.
Sometimes a thermal drone is the right tool.
And sometimes using both resources gives us the best opportunity for a successful recovery.
One of the things I really like about Longspur is that the drone pilots have experienced tracking dog handlers behind them. If I'm flying a recovery and something doesn't feel right, or I want another experienced opinion, that resource is there. And if the situation calls for putting a dog on the track, we have phenomenal handlers to work with.
The same goes the other direction.
Dogs and drones aren't competing against each other. They're tools that can complement each other when they're used correctly.
That's the kind of recovery network I'm excited to be a part of.
Longspur is heading into its 7th year of deer recovery in Maryland, with professionals covering the state from the Eastern Shore to the mountains of Western Maryland.
I'm excited to have Nighthawk Drone Services teaming up with Longspur this season and to work alongside a phenomenal group of dog handlers, drone pilots, trackers, and hunters who care about doing things the right way.
