Meet Your Sugar River Raceway Drivers!
Not only are Wesley Hatleberg’s karts perhaps the best looking at Sugar River Raceway, but you will also find him driving them up front almost every race day. Wesley just finished his second season in the Briggs & Stratton Racing 206 Junior 1 Class. After a third-place Rookie of the Year campaign in 2025, Wesley followed up on his first-year success by winning the 2026 Junior 1 Division overall points championship. In addition to winning the overall championship, he placed first overall in the Red, White, and Blue Series for 2026 and set the Junior 1 Division’s single-lap track record.
Adding to his racing accomplishments, Wesley’s Dale Earnhardt Sr. Wrangler Jeans throwback Coyote Motorsports FX-1 was voted Best Looking Kart in 2025. His Days of Thunder City Chevrolet-themed Merlin Racing - MRC cadet kart is already a favorite for the 2026 award. He would like to give special recognition to Bud Weiser Chevrolet Cadillac in Beloit for sponsoring both karts over the last two seasons.
Wesley’s most memorable Sugar River Raceway moment was carrying the checkered flag around the oval for a victory lap after his first win. His favorite competitor to race against is Garrett Simler. The competition between the two has made both of them better drivers. Wesley’s future racing goals are to further dial in consistent lap times and learn to adapt better to various driving conditions.
There are several individuals Wesley would like to thank for his success and supporting his racing, including his mom Lindsey Hatleberg and dad Josh, family, Uncle Nick Hatleberg , Searles Racing crew, Pierce Racing #10 (Natalie and Matt), Rob Wilhelmi, and the Jacobson Racing team.
