Murph is more than just a workout.

Murph is a tribute. A challenge. A reminder of sacrifice, resilience, and service.

The Murph workout honors Michael Murphy, a Navy SEAL who gave his life during Operation Red Wings in Afghanistan in 2005. Known for his courage, leadership, and selflessness, Murphy made the ultimate sacrifice to save his team and was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.

The workout itself:
🏃 1 Mile Run

đŸ’Ș 200 Push-Ups
đŸ’Ș 300 Air Squats
🏃 1 Mile Run

Traditionally performed wearing a weighted vest.

For nearly a month, Outliers have been preparing for this challenge — not just physically, but mentally. Tomorrow we gather together to push through discomfort, test our grit, support one another, and honor those who serve with courage and sacrifice like Michael Murphy.

We’re less than TWO weeks away from Memorial Day and our annual Murph workoutđŸ’Ș

Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll continue ramping up volume with pull-ups, push-ups, squatting, and running — testing your ability to handle fatigue and discomfort while staying disciplined in your movement and mindset.

Continue holding yourself to a high standard as the workouts get tougher. The work you put in now will pay off on Murph day.

Spring is in the air - and that means one thing: MURPH is coming!

As we head into May, our training focus shifts toward preparing for one of the most meaningful workouts of the year. We’ll be dialing in the core movements of MURPH: running, pull-ups, push-ups, and squats - building the strength and stamina needed to show up ready on Memorial Day.

This month, muscle endurance is the mission—and CINDY is the game plan. Expect to grind. Expect to be challenged. And most importantly, expect to grow.

We’ll lean into the mindset that:
“Anything worth doing is worth doing well.”
Quality over quantity.
Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.
Know the standards—and uphold them.

But MURPH is more than just a workout.

We do this in honor of Lt. Michael Murphy and all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Every rep carries purpose. Every step is a reminder.

So, this May, we train with intention.
We push a little harder.
We dig a little deeper.

Because come Memorial Day - we don’t just complete MURPH
we earn it.
