Meet Briana

Briana has been dancing since she was 4. Lyrical and jazz are her favorites, ballet not so much, but she’ll admit (begrudgingly) that it’s where all her technique comes from. She loves to travel but has zero patience for the car ride or flight it takes to get there. She also has an unhealthy obsession with Takis 🔥

Why Nexus Wednesday, Episode 7

✨Why do costumes take months to prepare?✨

Because there’s SO much more to a costume than picking something pretty off a rack!
At Nexus, our in-house seamstress helps bring each costume to life. From designing the look and selecting fabrics to ordering, cutting, sewing, altering, embellishing, and adding those final details that make a costume stage-ready. ✂️🧵🪡

And we don’t just think about how it looks, we think about how it moves. Every dancer’s movement, choreography, fit, comfort, and confidence are considered throughout the process.

We start months ahead because the goal is simple: when our dancers step on stage, their costumes should look incredible, move with them, and let them dance without distraction.

Meet Julia Anthony, Studio Owner

Julia is the proud owner of Nexus Dance Company, where her greatest joy is creating a place where dancers feel encouraged, supported, and inspired to become the best version of themselves. With a background in child development and education, she believes every child deserves to be seen, challenged, and celebrated; not just as a dancer, but as an individual.

Dance is about more than just steps on the dance floor. It’s about building confidence, lifelong friendships, and a sense of belonging. Julia feels incredibly grateful to be part of so many families' journeys and to watch our students grow both on and off the dance floor.

When Julia is not at the studio, you'll usually find her spending time with her husband, three children, and dog. She loves traveling, cool weather, holidays, and making memories with her family. Those same values of family, kindness, and community are at the heart of everything we do at Nexus Dance Company, and she hopes every dancer who walks through our doors feels right at home.

Our Interactive Story Time is coming up, and children ages 2–5 won’t just listen to a story, they’ll step right into it!💫

As we read, little ones will move, explore, imagine, and participate through fun gross motor activities and story-inspired stations that bring the book to life. 📖
