Help us turn Halloween fun into more adaptive climbing opportunities!

The Paradox Halloween Climb-a-thon is October 30–31! Climbers are taking on personal and team challenges to raise critical support for Paradox Sports — and you can help even if you're not climbing.

Two easy ways to give:

Pledge to a climber or team: Visit our campaign page, select an individual or team, and pledge an amount based on how far they climb. We'll calculate your total donation after the event based on their climbing accomplishments. For example, if you pledge $2 per 100 feet climbed, a 1000 foot climb raises $20!

Make a flat donation: Choose a one-time gift of any amount. You don’t have to select a climber or calculate feet climbed!
Every dollar helps Paradox create more inclusive climbing experiences, train adaptive climbing leaders, and expand opportunities for people with disabilities.

Our work in Ukraine continues.

After this summer’s adaptive climbing training with Ukrainian veterans with disabilities and instructors, we’re committed to providing additional training and specialized climbing equipment to our partners in Ukraine. Together, we’re helping build opportunities for climbing, connection, and community.

🎃 The Paradox Halloween Climb-a-thon is officially happening October 30–31, and we’d love for you to be part of it.

This peer-to-peer fundraising challenge is built around a simple idea: climb what you can, set a goal that works for you, and invite your friends, family, coworkers, and community to support your effort.

Together, our goals are to:

🧗 Climb 50,000 vertical feet
💰 Raise $50,000 for Paradox Sports

You can participate as an individual or as part of a team. You can join Paradox-hosted climbing sessions in the Boulder-Golden area, climb independently and log your feet on the honor system, or do both. We’ll host group climbing opportunities during the day on Friday, October 30 and Saturday, October 31, outside if weather permits, plus an evening gym climbing event on Halloween night.

There is no fee to register. We suggest a base fundraising goal of $250 for individuals and $500 for teams, but the most important thing is to sign up, participate, and help bring more people into the Paradox community.

And because it’s Halloween, costumes are encouraged — just make sure you can climb safely in whatever heroic, haunted, or hilarious outfit you choose.

We’ll have individual and team prizes for:

Paradox’s adaptive climbing training in Ukraine was a success. We’re proud of our team, the work they did, and the trust our Ukrainian partners placed in us. But first and foremost, we’re overwhelmed by the warmth of the Ukrainian people and the kindness and support our training group showed to one another.

The people we worked with have faced constant war since 2022. Air raid sirens that have become background noise. Horrors witnessed, homes gone, limbs lost, loved ones dead, refugees in their own country—but they came together for climbing. And to learn how to build community by sharing climbing with veterans with disabilities.

The adaptive climbing approaches that Paradox has pioneered in North America over the past two decades hold tremendous value for Ukraine’s veteran community. Faced with tens of thousands of veterans with disabilities and limited resources, traditional models of rehabilitation and reintegration are inadequate. Given the supportive community of veterans and climbers we encountered, we’re optimistic that a robust adaptive climbing community can be a part of the solution.

Our Ukraine training has begun. Five days and, via the instructors we are training, an opportunity to positively impact hundreds or thousands of veterans with disabilities.

Ukrainians are, by necessity, innovative. They’re clearly ready to take the skills and information we’re sharing and have a positive impact on their huge community of veterans with disabilities.

We got the call to come to Ukraine and said “yes.” But when our team boarded their flight, we were still counting on you to make this work. Paradox can’t do this work if it draws funds and resources from our U.S. programs. Please consider a small donation to power this program and enable ongoing work supporting veterans in Ukraine.

This is a tiny section of the memorial to local soldiers lost in the small Ukrainian city of Ivano-Frankivsk.

We can’t help those who have been lost, but we can help the tens of thousands veterans returning home with disabilities.

Paradox’s small team is currently in Ukraine to help launch a national adaptive climbing program. With your partners in the country we we are building opportunities for rehabilitation and community.

Because we felt the need is so great, we headed to Ukraine before we even had the funds in place to fully support this project. Your support would mean we can finish out this initial project and continue to support veterans with disabilities in Ukraine.
