This Thursday 26th, we have the pleasure of having Mario Lorenzo Sensei from Argentina teach at Tanshinjuku, from 5 PM to 7 PM.
His bio is as follows:
AIKIDO
I began my Aikido practice in 1982 at the Club de Gimnasia y Esgrima de Buenos Aires under Professor Néstor Ivanisevic. Following his passing, our entire group joined the dojo of Master Kenzo Miyazawa in 1987, where I continued training until his death in 2003. Within the Asociación Argentina de Aikido (founded by Master Miyazawa), I served as Secretary and, from 2001 to 2015, as the Head of Foreign Relations, acting as the primary liaison with the Aikikai Hombu Dojo in Japan.
In 2015, I was elected President of the Asociación Aikido Aikikai Argentina, an organization affiliated with Hombu Dojo under the technical direction of Shihan Christian Tissier (8th Dan Aikikai). I have represented Argentina three times at the International Aikido Federation (IAF) Congress: Taipei (1992) and Japan (2008 and 2012). In 2019, I was awarded the rank of 5th Dan Aikikai.
Tenshin Shoden Katori Shinto Ryu
I officially began my TSKSR training in 2003, upon the recommendation of Miyazawa Sensei, under Professor Erik Louw (Shidosha, Netherlands). In 2013, Otake Sensei appointed me Shidosha for Argentina. Following Otake Sensei’s retirement from teaching in 2018, I continued my studies under his son, Kyoso Shigetoshi, the current Shihan of the school. In 2019, I received the Mokuroku and was designated Shibu-Cho for Argentina by Kyoso Shihan. To date, I have completed eight training trips to Japan and nine across Europe and the United States.
