What an amazing day and fantastic turnout!! It is hard to describe just how happy a match director can get when he has a full line of competitors. I want to give a special acknowledgement to our junior competitor States Aycock for a fantastic first 22 rimfire sporter match. The competition for Saturday morning is fierce indeed and we are grateful that you chose to come out and shoot with us. I also want to single out our 4th place finisher Tony Lacy who runs the vintage sniper matches at the Henry County Gun Club, Puryear, TN. He holds these competitions on the th Saturday of the month at their rifle range, just a short drive fromthe clubhouse and shotgun facility. This is the closest 600-yard range to our area.

🎯 New Range Record!
We have a new name at the top of our NRA High Power Match Rifle leaderboard!

Congratulations to Larry Evans of Sikeston, MO, for an outstanding performance on April 25, 2026. Larry posted an impressive score of 485-12 (out of 500-50), setting a new benchmark at the Jackson Purchase Shooting Complex.

We’d also like to recognize Richard Reichert, whose previous record of 482-8 set a high standard and stood strong for many months. It’s shooters like Richard and Larry who continue to raise the bar and inspire competition at our range.

Our “Current Range Records” board has been updated—come out and see if you can be next!

I want to thank everyone (All 13 of you!) for creating the largest match attendance to date at the Jackson Purchase Rifle and Pistol Club!

Also, we had two first time competitors in the Rimfire Sporter match. Tracy Lacy of Paris Tennessee and our very own Beau Ballew of Paducah. I hope that both of you had a fun shooting experience and hope to see you again next month.

Match winner was Larry Evans of Sikeston, Mo. 2 nd was the hardest working competitor we have from Dyersburg, Tn., John Topolski and third from Jackson, Tn. was Brad Davidson.

Thanks to everyone for coming out to shoot on a near perfect day! And speaking of near perfect, match winner Larry Evans of Sikeston, Mo. had a 589-31x of a possible 600-60x, this is not his all time high score but his 200-16X in the prone position was amazing! Second place went to John Topolski of Dyersburg TN. with a 583-30. The club can’t thank John enough for all the work he does prior to the match, providing the clipboards, pins, doughnuts and medals is greatly appreciated! Thanks Again John! Third place went to Teddy Climer of Reagan TN. with a 574-19 and for those at home keeping score Robert Cantrell of Paducah, KY was the highest performer from our home state!
