Many of you are likely aware of the recent animal abuse case involving a large number of dogs. The Paducah Kennel Club is collecting donations to assist the McCracken County Humane Society with this dire situation. If you’d like to donate $, you can do so securely online with a debit/credit card; just email me at [email protected] the amount you’d like to donate and I will email you an invoice with a payment link. I will be writing one check from PKC to the humane society that will be hand delivered.

If you’d like to donate items, the club is accepting them tomorrow night at 7:00 pm at the clubhouse on Fisher Road in West Paducah or you can take items directly to the humane society.

Recently, Mary Stucker and her talented Australian Shepherd, Kelsey Jo, earned their Novice JWW Title in AKC Agility and Novice Title in AKC Rally. Way to go team!

Congratulations to Martha and her canine competitors for making a splash in 2024.

🐾 Zen, the black Labrador, competed at the 2024 NADD National Championship in Hydrodash, earning a spot in the top 10 of their division!
🐾 Rosie, the yellow Labrador, achieved her Dock Senior Advanced (DSA) title!

PKC Board Member Spotlight: Meet Cindy Walters 🌟

Since joining the PKC about three years ago, Cindy has competed in AKC Obedience and Rally with two of her dogs. She’s excited to expand her competition experience to include agility and scent work. Cindy also serves on the PKC Board of Directors and shares her home with three dogs: Sky, a 3-year-old Poodle and Border Collie mix; Terra, a 3-year-old Miniature Poodle; and a 9-year-old Chihuahua.

Cindy’s fondest memory at the Paducah Kennel Club is from November 2024, a month filled with special milestones. During this time, Sky earned both her Obedience CDX title and her RACH Rally Championship. Cindy says, "I couldn't have done it without the support and encouragement from so many club members."

Thank you, Cindy, for all you do for our club and the dog community! 🐾

Congratulations to Kami Wilkins and her Pug, Hugo! Hugo recently earned his FCAT title and secured a spot among the top 5 Pugs in FastCAT for the 4th year in a row in 2024.

Congratulations to Toast the Borzoi and his owner/handler, Hannah DeRazza! Not only did they earn their Novice Trick Dog title in December, but they also took 2nd place last week in the 12-18 month class at Purina Farms. Well done!

This winter, the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Obedience Class is in full swing at the PKC! Participants are sharpening their obedience skills in preparation for the CGC test, while also enjoying fun foundational drills that lay the groundwork for beginner teams interested in diving into the world of AKC sports.

PKC Board Member Spotlight: Meet Ruth Ann Rabideau 🌟

Ruth Ann's passion for Australian Shepherds began back in 1974, when the breed wasn't yet recognized by the AKC. It wasn't until after retirement in 2013 that Ruth Ann began showing Australian Shepherds. This led her to connect with the Paducah Kennel Club at her first Rally Trial in 2015, right here in Paducah, KY.

Over the years, Ruth Ann has shown in Conformation, Obedience, Rally, Agility, Scent Work, Barn Hunt, and Fast CAT. In addition to these sports, she has also dabbled in Hunt Tests, Herding, and Tracking. She says her favorite memories at the PKC were earning titles like HIT, Triple, and RACH in Rally, and achieving her goal of UD in Obedience. What made these moments truly special wasn't just the wins, but the support and encouragement from other PKC members.

Ruth Ann and her husband Tom now share their home with the following canine companions:
