And it’s a wrap for FIS ANCs 2027.
With the Australian races cancelled due to lack of snow at Thredbo it was up to NZSki to run the series.
Challenging weather and variable surfaces limited races to a total of 3 GS for men and 2 for women and 3 slaloms for each gender( two at Hutt, one Coronet).
In this week’s series Coronet Peak competed hard with Hutt to see who could provide the widest range of weather, with Coronet conditions ranging from sleet and poor vis and gusts causing wind- hold, to intense sunshine and double degree temps!
Kudos to the ROC, NZSki and volunteers with the final day of racing featuring 2 Men’s GS races down Hurdle in one day, with over 60 competitors in each, showing what can be achieved with planning and collaboration.
Huge Congratulations to the ANC yellow bib winners- a huge achievement in a highly competitive field!

Fantastic to see a Kiwi in the mix!
Alaska also almost making the GS podium with a sixth place finish at Coronet👏🤩🌟
Other notable New Zealand results at Coronet Peak - Toby Jackson 8th place and Mathilda Watterson 14th in slalom.
10 Kiwi athletes gained valuable ANC points - well done to Mikayla Smyth, Alaska Speedy, Mathilda Watterson, Charlotte Wiggins,Ruby Fullerton, Isabel Watterson, Alec Jackson,Toby Jackson, Sam Hadley, and Calder Bain. 🎉👍🥳👏🤩🌟
A special thanks to the many volunteers spending long hours on the hill, often in fairly atrocious conditions- legendary start ref Julia Bentley and finish ref Graham Saunders as standouts! 🙏
Thanks also to Nigel and team at NZ Ski, the ROC, Brenner and his crew and to all coaches athletes and supporters for coming! We hope to see you all back next year! 💪🤞
