“A MOMENT OF VICTORY THANKS TO MANY FAILURES “

Kirk Gibson stepped into the box for LA as a pitch hitter in the bottom of the 9th, 2 outs, runner on second, trailing the Oakland A’s 4-3 in game one of the 1988 World Series.
The only reason he didn’t start the game was because his legs had given out. He works a full count on Eckersley and hits a 2 run walk off home run. Gibson explains the moment as this- “a moment of victory after a compilation of many failures”

Hands/knob work towards the ball(not to the ball)while the body turns behind the ball. Get on plane with the pitch and drive thru it. Head still. Eyes down. Rotate around your head with minimal movement.
I teach my hitters to drive thru any barrel the pitcher offers. Keep direction, balance and posture thru the pitch. Period.
Approach is all about timing, finding barrels, staying ahead of the pitcher. Period. HLP instructors. Explain to me how teaching HLP makes sense?
