I didn’t plan this post. I planned a round of golf.
But every time I bent down, squatted, or turned through a swing last night, I saw the exercise hiding inside the movement. So here’s three moments from the course paired with the strength work that builds them, straight from an upcoming EverFLEXED release.
This is exactly why we program for the 45+ population the way we do. Real life doesn’t ask you to isolate a muscle. It asks you to rotate, hinge, and balance, often all at once. Train it that way.
More on this release soon. Comment EverFlexed if you want a sample of the workout.

That swing lives almost entirely in the transverse plane. One heavy dumbbell, one reverse wood chop, and you’re training the exact rotational power your body needs to load and release through impact. Same pattern. Added resistance. That’s how you build a swing that holds up on hole 18.
Reading the line → Loaded Squat with Rotation
Squatting down to check your line asks for hip mobility, ankle range, and thoracic rotation all at once. Take that same position: feet externally rotated, full depth, medium load, then reach one arm overhead while you rotate and track it with your eyes. You’re not just building squat strength. You’re building the exact shape your body takes on the green.
Grab a kettlebell. First rep: back foot stays grounded. Second rep: lift that back leg and move through the sagittal plane. Now you’re training the hip hinge and single-leg stability that keep you from tipping over every time you bend down to grab your ball.
