About that flash flooding during the Rebelle…

I just got home last night and I'm starting to go through footage from my meta glasses.

If you were following along, you probably saw that the rally called an **“All Stop”** while flash flooding overwhelmed trails and drainage crossings on course.

Once the water dropped enough for officials to reopen the route, teams were released in the order they’d arrived at the stop.

That put two X-Cross teams, the Crosstrek and the MINI, just ahead of us.

When we reached the main drainage crossing on our route, the decision was ours.

And it was moving. Fast. Rapids and all.

We were pretty happy to discover that both smaller X-Cross vehicles had already made it through safely, which gave us some useful information before making our own call.

In almost any normal trail situation, I probably would have waited longer for the water to come down, or simply turned around. Flash-flood water is nothing to mess with.

But this wasn’t a normal trail day. We knew two smaller vehicles had just crossed successfully, we had other teams nearby in front of and behind us, and after looking at the crossing, we decided to go.

Spoiler: the Forester Hybrid made it through just fine. 😅

One of the things I love about off-road driving is that capability is only part of the equation. Knowing when to go, when to wait, and when to turn around matters just as much.

Three consecutive X-Cross victories at the Rebelle Rally.

Congratulations to Team #200, Carey Lando and Andrea Shaffer, for taking 1st place in the X-Cross class behind the wheel of their 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid.

Rebelle Rally day 7 update! With the first day of the Glamis sand dunes finished, team 200 took a solid 2nd place finish for the day with a 6 point separation from 1st place. Overall this brings their standings to first place with a 15 point lead heading into the final day of competition tomorrow!

Let’s cheer on these incredible lady’s as they go into their hardest fight yet where we know they’ll give it their all! Let’s go Carey and Andrea, team 200 for the win!

Rebelle Rally days 5 and 6 update! Alrighty y’all the last two days have been a doozy with ups and downs and some of the toughest terrain of the event, but team 200 has managed to take back first place and push into a healthy lead of 21 points overall.

Starting on day 5 the team made a heavy push to first with a final day score of 197 points lending them a 7-point lead for the day and a 6-point overall lead. Through the day the team did suffer a front shock seal failure on one of their spares so taking it controlled was the name of the game.

Day 6 brought more challenging terrain and a unique sprint-style start where all 45 teams started the rally at the same time and out of their vehicles. If you had been following the points on the Rebelle rally website score sheet you might have noticed inconsistent updates on the scores for team 200 and team 208, we haven’t been told a reason for yet but it sure made for a stressful afternoon of refreshing the page.

With the final score of day 6 coming in hot, Lando and Shaffer managed to pull ahead by an additional 15 points for the day bringing their overall lead to 21 points! This of course doesn’t solidify their place in the competition as the next 2 days could pose some extra challenge with the vast Glamis sand dunes on the horizon.

Rebelle Rally day 4 recap- team 200 fought hard and with a quick stop to allow a flash flood to pass, the team won the day by 2 points putting them in second place overall with just one point to get back to first place!

In the live show from yesterday evening we were hit with the bombshell that the team has been navigating the whole competition without their rally computer and having to utilize their vehicles’ trip meter to manage distance. For those with lifted tire you might understand the challenge as the diameter difference over stock has made the cars odometer completely inaccurate.

Let’s cheer on this amazingly adaptable team and encourage them here in the comments to keep their math game on point!

Rebelle Rally day 3 update - well as most seasoned competitors know, day 3 can often bring some extra challenges to the rally. Due to hurricane Rachel’s influence the rally staff decided to remove several of the sections from the competition shortening the day quite heavily. The ruts, mud, and deep water became to much and brought safety concerns as well as concerns for the trails themselves, tread lightly!

Beyond the competition as a whole team 200 also encountered some mechanical issues with their front shocks which prematurely blew oil seals likely from some hard hits over the washed-out terrain. This prompted driver Carey Lando to open up her spare parts bin to throw on their spare shocks at the cost of a 10-point penalty. This penalty did cost the team their first place position in the X-Cross class though with only 3 points to first place it’s still an awesome fight!

Let’s make sure to cheer this amazing team on as they continue fighting the battle in possibly the wettest Rebelle Rally in history 🤘🤘🤘

Rebelle Rally day 2 update! With the start of the first marathon leg of the rally, team 200 set out to take on the challenging terrain of the day. Today brought some tight competition with a final second-place finish for the day with just 3 points shy of the day’s first-place spot. Overall our team sits at first place for the whole rally with a 7-point lead. Let’s all cheer on the ladies as they keep pushing today to try and widen that gap!

Day 1 recap of the 2026 Rebelle Rally! With a rally computer snafu during prologue the start of day was a much anticipated one with concerns for accurate distance measurement. Thankfully team 200 managed to hit the ground running with a functional ICO rally computer. Through the day competition was fierce with Team 216, driven by Kendra Miller with navigator Tasha Krug, hot on their tail. By the final checkpoint though Carey and Andrea managed to put a final 10 point gap between them and clinched the day 1 stage win.

Prologue day 0 update! Team 200 has likely become one of the only Subarus to swap tires around at Las Vegas Motor Speedway to relocate the rally computer sensor mounted on their tire. After that team 200 made their way off the start line aimed for base camp 1!
