Another epic maintenance and tune-up day at Fire Mountain Disc Golf Sanctuary in Cherokee!

We did a ton of string trimming. We cut up and moved downed trees on hole 10. We picked up some litter (there was very little).

We installed several new tee and information signs. We met a nice family visiting from Pennsylvania.

The course is excellent condition. Come play this hidden gem when you get a chance.

Another truly awesome maintenance and tune-up day at Fire Mountain Disc Golf Sanctuary in Cherokee!

We cut up and moved downed trees on holes 18, 17, and 10. We string trimmed a few holes. We picked up some litter (there was very little). We met some nice families visiting from Tennessee and Virginia.

The course is amazing condition. Come play this hidden gem when you get a chance.

We string trimmed the putting greens, entrance, and cleaned up a few holes. We picked up some litter (there was very little). We met some nice folks visiting from Arkansas.

We finished string trimming all of the holes. We picked up some litter (there was very little). We met a nice family of around eight people from Oklahoma.

Big things are happening at Tanglewood Park in Clemmons, North Carolina, where Team DGDG has been hard at work designing what is shaping up to be an absolutely epic disc golf destination. We truly believe this course will attract players from all over the world with its incredible variety of features including elevation changes, tightly crafted wooded holes, lush green fairways, peninsula greens, and exciting water carries.

This 250k project will feature 33 baskets and 51 tee pads, including a short 6 hole beginner friendly warm up course located beside the new disc golf shelter area. The championship level 18 hole course will include multiple tee pads and basket locations designed to challenge players of all skill levels while creating a memorable experience every round.

Construction is still underway, but the vision is quickly becoming reality. Stay tuned for future updates and the official grand opening announcement.

Team DGDG putting in a little more volunteer work for the City of Asheville and the greater Western North Carolina disc golf community. Today we replaced tee signs on holes 2 and 6 at Aston Park in downtown Asheville and also worked to better identify the tee markers throughout the course.

If you have not played this super sweet practice course yet, you ought to give it a try. The main course map is located at the tennis center, and each hole has its own tee sign to help guide the way. Great little spot to work on your game right in the heart of Asheville.

Another great maintenance and tune-up day at Fire Mountain Disc Golf Sanctuary in Cherokee!

We cleaned up a few downed trees and did LOTS of string trimming. We’ll be out again soon to trim holes 7-11. Please be patient as we continue to work on new course signage. We picked up some litter (there was very little).

We met some nice folks from Indiana who said, “We are trying to play the 10 best courses in North Carolina.”

Another great week on the road for the DGDG team making the rounds across North Carolina and South Carolina visiting four different disc golf design projects.

First stop was in Forsyth County at the legendary Tanglewood Park, where we continue working on what is shaping up to be an epic destination course. From there, I completed a site visit with a small church exploring ways to better utilize their property for recreation, walking, and fun community activities.

Next, I made my way to Orange County and had the pleasure of staying with Rich Money at High Meadow Farms just north of Hillsborough. What an incredible private course and property. After spending time at High Meadow, I headed over to Blackwood Farm to continue work on another exciting design project that is slowly coming along.

The trip wrapped up down on the South Carolina coast where we are honored to be working on our second project with Charleston County at a hidden gem of a park in Mount Pleasant. Big shot out to the crew at Find the Line for all their help and collaboration on this project.

Exciting things are taking shape across both states, and we are grateful for the opportunity to help communities, parks, churches, and private properties bring the game of disc golf to life. Stay tuned for more updates from team DGDG.

Another great maintenance and tune-up day at Fire Mountain Disc Golf Sanctuary in Cherokee!

We cleaned up a few downed trees, including several near the long pin on #8. It was great to see folks out for the rotating league enjoying the gorgeous weather.
