Mommy & Me or Little Movers 🤔 What’s the difference?

If you have a 2 or 3-year-old, you may have noticed that the ages for these classes overlap, and that’s intentional!

The biggest difference is independence.

In Mommy & Me, a parent or caregiver participates right alongside their dancer. It’s a fun, low-pressure way for little ones ages 1.5–3 to experience music, movement, and dance while having their favorite grown-up right there with them.

Little Movers is designed for ages 2–3 who are ready to head into the studio on their own! They’ll dance, play, use their imaginations, and start learning things like listening to their teacher, following directions, taking turns, and participating in a class independently.

There’s no rush to move from one to the other, and one isn’t “more advanced” than the other. It’s really about where your child is right now and what environment will help them feel most comfortable and confident.

Yes, we have a competition team, but that’s only one part of what we do!

Our Recreational Program is perfect for dancers who want to take class, learn, have fun, and be part of Mission without the commitment of competitive dance.

And for dancers who want to take their training a little further, we have Mission Train! Technique-focused classes designed for dancers who want to grow, challenge themselves, and train at a higher level without being on a competition team.

Maybe your dancer wants one class a week just because they love to dance.

Maybe they want to train several days a week and really work on their technique.

Maybe they’re brand new and have no idea where dance will take them yet.

There’s a place for all of them here. 💗

You don’t have to compete. You don’t have to audition. You just have to want to dance.

What makes Mission different?

We could tell you about the training. The incredible faculty. The opportunities. The choreography. The awards.

And yes, we’re really proud of all of it.

But that’s not what makes Mission, Mission.

We believe dancers can be pushed without being torn down. That high expectations and a healthy environment can exist in the same room. That you can train seriously, work incredibly hard, chase big goals AND still love coming to dance.

We want our dancers to grow into incredible artists and athletes, of course. But we also care about the people they’re becoming along the way.

We want them to be confident. Kind. Resilient. Hardworking. Good teammates. We want them to learn how to handle disappointment, celebrate someone else’s win, take correction, advocate for themselves, and believe they’re capable of more than they thought.

We’re building strong dancers. But more importantly, we’re building strong humans.

That’s the Mission. ❤️
