Friends I am asking you to vote for my niece Chef Octavia Peurie as Carla Hall's Favorite Chef where the proceeds (if you vote with dollars) will go to the James Beard Foundation for scholarships to students to Culinary Arts school. The winner will be on the cover of the a popular culinary art magazine and a prize purse of 25k.

You can vote for free every 24 hours. There are only 4 days left. Right now Tay (as we affectionately call her) is in the lead.

Let me tell you about my niece Octavia. She raised my two wonderful beautiful Nieces and two wonderful handsome Nephews by herself when her babies fathers wouldn't and couldn't. She was not discouraged, she instead held tight to Jesus Christ and trusted that He would take care of her and them. They are now all grown educated kids living their lives loving one another and their mom. On or before 1999 Tay came to me and said Auntie lets open a restaurant. We started the process until she put thing to a stop. I said Tay why did you stop, she said auntie, I need credentials. I am not ready. She moved her four kids to North Carolina and started and finished a her Bachelors degree at Johnson and Wales University. Mind you she was a real non traditional student, but that did not stop her either. Later she completed her Masters degree.

After this was done, and the kids were off starting their lives it was than that she allowed Jesus to send her wonderful husband and business partner Kevin Peurie. The two of them are made for one another.

Winning this contest would mean a lot to Tay and her business. She did the work, she made the sacrifices for her family and in some cases her friends. Tay loves cooking and making people seeing how happy people are when they have a good meal. It is her time now. Many of you know that Joseph and I have been involved in Professional Track and Field for almost as long as we have been married. 23 yrs / 39/yrs respectively. Some of you know that we launched a Professional League three years ago to give graduating Collegiate and Elite Track and Field athletes an opportunity to continue on the Pro level as part of a team. North American Track&Field League®(NATFL™) was created. natf_league The first of its kind professional track and field league in the USA. We spent all of 2023 building the teams; recruiting athletes. We continue to recruit athletes. May 4, 2024, at the Hawk in Farmington Hills, MI, we are hosting our 3rd Annual Invitational Competition to showcase the league. This will be an opportunity to see and support all of the athletes in the league (two who are actually from Detroit). The two top discus throwers on CEP'S roster have both been featured on WorldAthletics after their outstanding seasons from last year to this year with more fireworks to come. Cici Onyekwere took home the gold medal from last year's Commonwealth Games and Alex Rose finished top eight(8) in the world at last year's Oregon World Championships. For 2023, Onyekwere established a new African record by besting the prior record which was set some 16 years ago and Alex threw a lifetime best over 70m, a feat that no one from Samoa has ever achieved. Join CEP Management in congratulating these two athletes as they prepare for the 2023 Budapest World Championships!
