Michigan School of Skateboarding

Michigan School of Skateboarding We offer private and group beginning skateboarding lessons for skaters of all ages. Lessons are one hour in length. Maximum six participants per class section.

The Michigan School of Skateboarding is super-close to starting up classes and lessons! We just need to dot a few i's and cross a couple t's and we'll be rolling (literally). Here are descriptions of the offerings we'll have in early May, 2015:

5-Week, Small Group Beginner Skateboarding Lessons:

Five week, one hour, group beginning skateboarding class taught by Trevor Staples. Classes meet rain

or shine every Saturday or Sunday, indoors at Flophouse Custom Skateboards in Ann Arbor. See "venues" link for more info on Flophouse. Lessons will be tailored to each skater's individual goals and needs. Lessons can include:

Introduction to safety equipment
Introduction to parts of the skateboard, and basic maintenance
Skatepark Etiquette
Balance, steering, pushing
Basic ramp/bowl riding: fakies, kickturns, carving, roll-in, drop-in
Skateboarding history: local and worldwide
Every new student gets a free Michigan School of Skateboarding tee shirt! Private, One-on-One Beginner Skateboarding Lessons:

One hour, private, beginning skateboarding lessons. Lesson will be tailored to each skater's individual goals and needs.
