One week until whistles blow in Sandusky!

This year marks the 9th year of the GFC Girls Division. Sabrina Nauss of Michigan won the first ever GFC Girls Division in 2018 and ended up winning 3 straight GFC titles.

Nauss is one of the best college wrestlers in the country, finishing National Runner Up the last 2 seasons for GVSU Women’s Wrestling

Today we honor GFC legend Taye Ghadiali who first emerged on the national scene at the GFC 2018 in East Lansing when he finished runner up at 215lbs.

Ghadiali went on to earn two NCAA D1 AA honors, first for Campbell in 2024 then for Michigan Wrestling last year

The countdown is on as sights are set on next weekend’s 17th Annual Grappler Fall Classic in Sandusky, Ohio.

As we count down the days we honor some of the all-time GFC legends starting with 3x GFC Elite Division Champion Casey Swiderski of Michigan.

The Dundee HS grad is a 2x NCAA All American after finishing on the podium for OSU Cowboy Wrestling last year!

A handful of Michigan Grapplers headed to the Indiana Hoosier Preseason Open (IHPO) this past weekend and had a great showing.

For HS Boys, the tournament served as an Early Entry Qualifier for Super 32.

Note: some HS Boys weights only placed the top-4, so Michigan had others place top-8 but not qualify for Super 32 early entry

The state’s top Senior, Grayson Fuchs, went 6-0 at the Elite 8 Duals this weekend. He started the weekend off with a 9-1 major decision over Fitzgerald of PA.

4 of the next 5 wins for the DCC Shamrock would be over top-10 nationally ranked wrestlers. In Round 2, Fuchs majored Fargo champ #9 Kyriarenko of Florida, 10-2. In Round 3, the Shamrock beat California state placer Contino by 3-2 decision.

In the quarterfinals, Fuchs had a feet-to-back takedown in the third period to beat #7 Shaggier (Ohio) by a 6-1 decision. Fuchs would then pick up two takedowns in the semifinals match to beat #7 Kilgore (Arizona) by a 7-2 decisions.

Fuchs capped off an incredible tournament by beating #5 Kikiniou (California) in ultimate tiebreakers. The massive win helped propel Team Carnage to a championship at the loaded tournament.

Big start to his Senior season for the Purdue commit!
