Hi everybody! This is an announcement that the next Beginning Fencing Class will begin Monday, March 16, 7:30-8pm. Apologies that it has taken so long to set a firm date. Participants (ages 10 and up) will need to purchase an "Access Membership" ($34 yr) from USA Fencing (www.usafencing.org). Additionally, they will need to fill out a club membership form (available at the Anchorage Fencing Club). Equipment will be provided by the club, but everyone should wear exercise appropriate clothing (sweat pants, t-shirt) and especially INDOOR ONLY gym shoes (no outside shoes are allowed in the gym, including parents and spectators!) The Beginning Fencing Class will teach the basics of foil fencing in 10 sessions, $20 per session (10 lesson punchcards are available to purchase for $180). Anyone who wants to continue participating is welcome to keep coming to the club once the Beginning Fencing Class has concluded. The fencing club begins at 6:30 pm with a half hour drill line, followed by open fencing till 8:30-9pm ($20 per session), Mondays and Thursdays. Sometimes the weather will prompt us to cancel our activities, so check our our website at www.anchoragefencingclub.org or our page to keep informed of any schedule changes (if the school district cancels after school activities, the fencing club will also be cancelled). Hi everybody! The fencing club is cancelled tonight, Thursday, Jan.15, on account of the dangerous driving conditions. We will also be closed Monday, Jan.19th, for MLK jr. Day. We will next meet Thursday, Jan.22nd. Thank you, and sorry for the late notice. Be safe out there!

Hi everybody! Happy 2026, fencers and families! Hope it's off to a good start! The Moseley gym reopens on Jan.5th and it looks great. We are able to start opening night. Reminder: drill line begins at 6:30pm and open fencing is from 7 to 8:45pm. As the gym floor has been refinished, the university asks us to insist to everyone that outside shoes are prohibited in the gym- including parents and spectators. Also, please be sure your US fencing memberships is current. For winter weather or possible closures, please keep an eye on Facebook or our website www.anchoragefencingclub.org. Happy 2026 Fencers! And the club will reopen soon; the Moseley Sports center will open on Monday Jan 5 and it looks great. We are just waiting to get black out dates and our 2026 contract. So not sure if we will open on 5th or very shortly thereafter. Stay tuned and again Happy New Year!

Hi everybody! Unfortunate update: I've been informed that the gym renovation is "several weeks" behind schedule. Fencing on Monday, Nov.17 is therefore cancelled, and we don't yet have an estimate as to when we will be able to resume our schedule. We are very sorry for the inconvenience and hope you can be patient with us. As soon as we have information about when we can resume our activities, we will post it here and on the website. Thank you, and we hope you have a good Thanksgiving Day!
