What a beautiful night for a party! Although the club had amazing decorations most everyone was out on the patio enjoying the weather we have been waiting for. Great food, great desserts and great conversations.

Greetings, my name is Kevin Nichols. I am the captain of the schooner Jade Lady. I am looking at keeping my boat at Alpena starting this season. I do sail charters and was wondering if anyone at the yacht club might be interested in crewing. This is a paid position. Generally speaking the best person for the positon is a young man or woman, high school to college age who likes sailing and has good people skills. For those interested in maritime history and perhaps looking into tall ship sailing, this gets them sea time on a schooner. My website is attached below. The St Patrick's Day dinner for tonight has been cancelled. Like most everyone else there's no power or heat in the club.

As the boating season comes to an end we had a cook out to celebrate Closing the Hatch. Thanks to Eric and Michael for the music, so much fun to sing along. Thanks to Tom Baker and Scott Hamilton for their grill master talent. Thanks also to Molly Hamilton for the fall decorations and organizational abilities. Thank you to everyone who shared their cooking talents, as usual the food contributions were as varied as they were tasty. It was too chilly for the celebration to be outdoors but a few hardy souls ventured out. If you haven't seen the paint job on the compass rose check it out.
