We are going to sleep tonight with incredibly grateful and warm hearts for all the volunteers that showed up for Food Distribution in the rain today, all the community members who allowed us to serve you, and all the love that was offered all around. We truly are better together. ❤️

🍎 Know of someone in need of food this week? 🍎

Food Distribution will take place tomorrow at the Alabaster YMCA (117 Plaza Circle, Alabaster) starting around 9:00 AM. We will begin serving as soon as the delivery truck is unloaded and the food is sorted.

Although the Alabaster YMCA closed its physical doors yesterday, we are grateful to continue our partnership with the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama so we can still show up for our community in this way when it’s needed most.

If you or someone you know could use food assistance this week, please come by—and please help us spread the word by sharing this post. No ID or income verification is required. All are welcome.

The Alabaster YMCA permanently closed on May 31, 2026.

We are eternally grateful to the members, families, volunteers, donors and staff who trusted us to be part of your lives over the years. Your support and commitment to the Y shaped this community. Thank you for being part of the Alabaster YMCA story. While this location is no longer operating, YMCA of Greater Birmingham members continue to enjoy citywide access at our other membership branches. https://www.ymcabham.org/locations/

From the first day to graduation day 🥹🎓

Today we celebrated something so special… the very last Pre-K class at the Alabaster YMCA. Watching these kiddos walk out for graduation is such a full circle moment, and we couldn’t be more proud of everything they’ve learned, the friendships they’ve built, and how much they’ve grown this year. ❤️

While it’s bittersweet closing this chapter at Alabaster, this isn’t goodbye! We can’t wait to see so many of our Pre-K families at the Pelham YMCA next school year for even more learning, laughter, and memories together. 💙💚
