ining Alexander Technique with Classical Ballet, the classes enhance your flexibility, imagination, core strength and stamina. Dance gracefully with music, breathe and invigorate yourself! Wear clothes for moving and soft shoes or socks. No previous experience necessary. A typical class will include a short standing meditation, ballet barre warm up, centre work and sometimes a short combination of steps at the end of class. Work will include strengthening of legs and core muscles, posture and alignment, fluidity, balance and body awareness. WHY
At +40 years of age, women experience increasing emotional, physical and hormonal shifts and changes, often getting worse over the next 10 years. It affects all women differently, so that they experience mood swings from great to bad days, in varying degrees, where they feel run down, emotional, physically weak, apathetic, lethargic and joyless. These changes for women are inevitable. We cannot run away from them. One way to cope with this, is to become more informed, and by moving physically through these emotional changes with the changing body. In this this way, the changes may become registered, demystified and welcomed, so that they may happen quite freely, without fear and humiliation. With more physical strength, we gain more understanding, resulting in a joyful acceptance, better coping mechanisms, letting go of associated fears, whilst approaching a new stage of our lives.
