Community Highlight from May

Te Awamutu Sports Lacrosse was proud to be part of the Te Awamutu Sports Adaptive Play Festival β€” a day dedicated to making sure every child gets to experience the joy of being active and included.

Coach Moose ran a lacrosse activity station on behalf of our club, and it was one of the highlights of the day. That feels fitting β€” because lacrosse has inclusiveness woven into its very origins. The game was gifted by First Nations peoples as the Creator's Game, played across communities of all ages and abilities, bringing people together long before organised sport existed. That spirit belongs on a day like this.

Watching children who don't always find their place in traditional sporting environments pick up a stick, give it a go, and walk away smiling β€” that's what this game is about at its core.

Thank you to Te Awamutu Sports for organizing such a wonderful event and for including us. This is the kind of community that makes it worth showing up.

This Saturday, KIHIKIHI RUGBYSPORTS CLUB celebrates 140 years β€” and what a day their team has put together! πŸ‘ŠπŸ‰πŸŒ‚

The morning starts with Junior grades followed by the local Presidents vs Bushpigs (12pm), the Senior Women face Morrinsville Sports (1pm), and the Taharoa Steelers go up against Marokopa Maunga Toa (2:45pm) for the League game. A full day of sport for the whole community.

We're proud to be part of the celebrations. While the games run, we'll be set up 10:00am with the opportunity for kids to Try Lacrosse β€” a chance to try something different, pick up a stick, and have a go while the whānau enjoy the day.

All ages welcome, all gear provided. Come find us between games!

Happy 140th Kihikihi!!!β€” what a club. πŸ¦—πŸ‰πŸ₯

⚑ WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT ⚑

Lightning Lacrosse is looking for a community-minded business to become an Official Uniform Sponsor of our Lacrosse Officials Program!

Our Officials Pathway helps local college students take their first step into officiating β€” a fast and fun way to learn the rules of lacrosse while giving back to younger players and keeping games safe and enjoyable for everyone. Our officials go on to coach and officiate across all levels of Waikato Lacrosse.

🎽 WHAT YOU GET:
βœ… Your logo on the sleeve of x10 officials uniforms
βœ… Recognition across our social media platforms
βœ… Visibility at officials training events
βœ… The satisfaction of supporting community sport and developing young leaders

πŸ’› Sponsorship investment: $1,500 – $2,500

⏰ We have a deadline of 12 June to get our uniform order in, so we'd love to hear from interested businesses ASAP!
