A huge day out for Napier Boxing' rangatahi where we had 4 boxers competing at Nabby's Boxing GYM in Hamilton π₯
So many great experiences for our team, and lot's of lessons learnt that we can take back to the club and work on.
Violet had a fantastic debut match against a beautiful young lady from in what was a nail bitting match that could have gone either way. Violet losing on asplit decision.
Airon had his first fight back after a 2 year break against a strong and skilled boxer from . Airon proved he's conditioned enough to keep up with the power of the older and more experienced guys, and will take all the learnings back to the gym to come back stronger in his next match. We're taking the loss as a learn.
Quinn started slowly but finally found his inner competitiveness in the last round and showed us all he is more than capable of boxing strongly and accurately, taking a split win.
Lokeni had one of his hardest matches he's had, against Boston from Nabby's Boxing GYM. Boston has an increadible work rate and really knows how to move, forcing Lokeni to match his work rate and continue to keep re finding his range taking a very close split decision win. And lokeni was also lucky to win the Junior Belt of the day.
Thank you to Dion and the team at Nabby's for putting on a well run tournament as per normal.
Thank you to all our opponents and their clubs for all the mahi you do and bringing us quality matches that we can all learn from.
Thank you to all our whanaus who support their rangatahi by encouraging them at home, believing in their journey, and trusting me to take good care of them in the gym and away at tournaments.
