BYE WEEK

A well-earned weekend off for both our senior teams. Time to rest the bodies, recover and get a few Ks in before we’re back into it.

While the rest of us enjoy the bye, four of our Wāhine are heading to Hawke’s Bay to represent MRL at the NZRL Championship Grade.

WHAT A GAME!

A great team effort ladies, attacking for the majority of the game and making the most of our opportunities. Executing our set plays paid off, rewarding us with some great tries.

Massive carries from our props and outside backs, with plenty of hard work across the park. Great to see our captain slot some tricky conversions in the strong winds too.

Massive mihi to the brothers who showed up and took the field today.

It was a tough day out, but our boys continued to battle hard and never gave up. Our centres were the workhorses, putting in a huge shift on both attack and defence.

A challenging game, but the brothers stayed in the fight, represented our team and kaupapa, and showed plenty of heart and determination right to the end.

DOUBLE HEADER - ON THE ROAD

Our Wāhine head to Linton Military Camp to take on the Linton Cobras, while our Tāne are back at Coronation Park to face the Kia Ora Warriors.

Whānau attending the Wāhine game must complete the gate entry form by 12:00PM Friday. There are strictly no walk-ins.

Massive mihi to Takaro Taniwha.

A tough game today and another one we know we could’ve got more from.

Massive effort from every brother who took the field. Moments of brilliance, strong carries and some huge defensive efforts, plenty to be proud of and plenty to build on.

We know we’ve got the goods. Now it’s about consistency, communication and getting it right together. The passion and belief are there.

Commitment is key, brothers, turning up for each other, for the team and for the kaupapa.

Learn from it, own it and keep building together.

WAY TO MAHI, WĀHINE.

Big mihi to our debutants, especially those playing their first physical contact sport.

Mihi to Kia Ora Warriors for a tough, physical game from the start.

A complete team effort built on belief, trust and a massive defensive display. Our props powered through the middle, our halves created flow, our outside backs shared the workload and drove the ball hard, while our fullback led from the back with safe hands, strong runs and confidence.

Tries to Harmony Solomon (2), Charis Mathews, Tash Kingi, Porourangi Manuel, Jayla Martin and Armani Martin.

Proud of the way our Wāhine stood together and worked for each other from start to finish. The belief is there, the trust continues to grow and the mahi speaks for itself. Plenty to be proud of and plenty still to come.
