Wanganui Water Ski Club

Wanganui Water Ski Club Wanganui Water Ski club (wwsc) is situated about 5 minutes south of Wanganui, based on the magnificent Lake Wiritoa.

The Wanganui Water Ski Club was formed in 1955 and celebrates 60 years in 2015. The Club is able to host record capability international 3-event water ski tournaments - slalom, trick and jump events and holds a national tournament each year usually in mid-January. Every five years the Club hosts the NZ National Water Ski Championships and this event will return to Wanganui in 2015. Club nights are

held on Tuesdays and Thursdays and again on Sunday morning between dawn and 10am. During these times, general club skiing is available behind the Club's owned Nautique 3-event inboard ski boat. If you want to improve how you ski or you want to learn to water ski, there is a huge depth of talent in the Club to help you out. If you just enjoy getting on the water and enjoying a tow, then that is great too - come and enjoy the fun of water skiing.

2026 NZ Water Ski Nationals - Lake Kerata

Well that's a wrap! The central region team are travelling home today after an awesome week at Lake Kerata, West Auckland. Huge thanks to the Auckland water ski club for hosting us through varying conditions! 🌧 πŸŒ€ 🌞

Shout out to the following skiers who represented our region....
Niki England, Charlotte Hagan, Sam MacKenzie, Kyle England, Josh Verhoek, Royce England, Ron Baker, Iain Bill and Trevor Fowler

Central was 7th out of 9 regional teams overall, a few great individual performances and for a small team it was a fab effort in trying conditions!

Special mention to Sammy MacKenzie for bronze in open men's trick with a score of 5600 πŸ‘
Both Sammy and Charlotte also skied in the open mens and women's division!
