Massive day for our River men!!! Gordon Hausia received his Mid Canterbury blazer making him the last River Man who is in Heartland to receive a blazer 💙💙 Thomas Whittaker and Seta Koroitamana also won which means all river men came out on top today 💙💙

📸 Hard to believe the Rugby season is over, and it’s been more than four months since our Jubilee weekend!

What a weekend it was celebrating 150 years of Rakaia Rugby Club! 🏉

What an afternoon we had celebrating our JAB on Saturday. Was amazing to see the clubrooms packed, the energy was high!

Thank you again to everyone who has continued to help behind the scenes, and all the extra hands who helped on Saturday. It's very much appreciated. Also to our parents, managers, players and coaches its been an incredible year 🏉

It’s with great sadness the Rakaia Rugby Club wish to acknowledge the passing of Fiona Rushton.
For many years whether on the committee, playing, coaching or attending a fundraiser, the Rushton family have been and continue to be a huge part of The Rakaia Rugby club and community.
Our thoughts are with the Rushton Family at this time.

And that's a wrap for JAB rugby. It's been such an awesome season with big nunbers for our Jubilee year. Saturday is a chance to celebrate everyone involved.

This year at our awards evening we had a new trophy to present.
This was kindly donated by the club Patron- Ralph Cornelius and his wife Lorraine.
150th Jubilee Trophy Volunteer of the Year
was presented to Mark Boag
Also recognised was Kylie, David and Julie.

Our players did us incredibly proud yesterday representing Rakaia in the Town vs Country games.

It was awesome to see our Rakaia kids out there giving it their all, representing not only our club but Country with plenty of pride. There was definitely a vibe at the showgrounds the kids look forward to this event every year!

Such a good result with both year 5 & 6 Country teams coming away with the WIN! Well done to all of the players, one practice and you all work together as a team. It shows dedication, drive and that you all have a love for rugby 🏉

A huge congratulations to all of our players who were selected. But not only that, to every other player who has represented Rakaia this year, we're proud of you all.

Thank you to Mid Canterbury Rugby Union the coaches, parents and all the volunteers that put in the hard work behind the scenes to make events like this happen!

Just like that kids rugby has nearly come to an end. Ripper games all wrapped up last weekend, and it's the last game this Saturday for the year 3 & 4 teams. Also on at the same time, the one and only town vs country!
