LET’S GO AUCKLAND BC | NATIONAL INTERCLUB 7s
It’s all about Interclub this weekend, with 1-5 Interclub hitting greens across Auckland this morning and Auckland Bowling Club’s men’s and women’s teams flying the flag at the National Interclub 7s - both making strong progress!

The women’s side hit the quarterfinals today at 12:15pm, taking on Paritutu (Taranaki), while the men, fresh off a Round 6 bye, face Riverside (Marlborough) in Round 7 at 12pm.

JUGGERNAUT CONTINUES 💥
A massive weekend for the Auckland Bowling Club with BOTH our men’s and women’s teams crowned 2026 Molecheck Pathway Sevens Champions!

🏆 Men: ABC defeated Howick 4–2 – securing an incredible FOURPEAT.
🏆 Women: ABC defeated Carlton Cornwall 4–2 – the first time an ABC women’s team has won the title.

Clean sweep. Four in a row. History made.
Huge performances across the board – including a gutsy Singles effort from Maroi on a sore ankle and a heroic final from Mike “Reidy” Reid stepping in and dominating the Pairs.

Too strong. Too consistent. Too good.

We’ve got some exciting bowls action happening today! 🌟

Our Auckland team is currently competing in the Taranaki Men’s Open Fours — one of New Zealand’s toughest and most prestigious Open events running this week in New Plymouth (19–25 Jan). 

🔥 Big News:
Liam Hill (skip), Neville Hill, Darral Gordon and Manurewa import Steve Bicknell have made the semi-finals and are 15–2 up heading into today’s play — great bowls! 💪

📺 The semifinal and final matches will be broadcast live on the Bowls New Zealand YouTube channel, so club members, family, and fans can watch all the action unfold online!

What a day on the greens for the ABC Women’s Singles - Two exciting matches kicked things off:

💥 Jo vs Maroi – a tight contest early on, but Maroi found her rhythm and powered ahead to win 21–14.
💥 Gloria vs Aggy – Gloria came out strong, leading 19–10, but Aggy made an incredible comeback to take it 21–18!

That set the stage for the final showdown: Maroi vs Aggy 🔥
Maroi was unstoppable, dominating from start to finish and claiming the title with an emphatic 21–8 win! 🏆👏

Fantastic bowling from all the ladies – great skill, spirit, and sportsmanship on display!

Well done Agnes Motu & Lisa Prideaux! 👏

What an effort today in the 2025 National Champion of Champions Women's Pairs! Representing Auckland Bowling Club, Agnes and Lisa showed real grit and class throughout the competition—pushing all the way to a nail-biting finish against North East Valley’s Ange Francis & Bronwyn Stevens, going down by just a single shot, 17–16.

Their road to the final was nothing short of impressive:
• Quarterfinal: a dominant 21–6 win over Hikurangi BC
• Semifinal: a hard-fought 20–18 victory against Bowls Taradale
• Final: a one-bowl heartbreaker, edged out 17–16

An incredible run, ladies—you’ve done yourselves, your club, and Auckland proud! 🌟
