Some mountain bike days start with a long climb.
This one starts with a helicopter. 🚁🚲

Fly high above Nelson to the Coppermine ridgeline, step out into an extraordinary landscape, then ride it all the way home.

Choose a Grade 3 steady rail-line descent or step it up to the Grade 4 singletrack - with your Cycle Nelson guide taking care of the details along the way.

And this spring, there’s an even better reason to get your crew together for this fully guided tour.

For a limited time this spring (1 Sep to 30 Nov 2026) the Coppermine Heli Bike is available at a special seasonal rate for groups of up to four for $4,600 - save $1,900 per group.

This includes:
🚵🏼 Helicopter fly-in to the Coppermine ridgeline
🚵🏼 Local snacks and refreshments on trail
🚵🏼 Accommodation transfers to and from your base
🚵🏼 Return shuttle back to Nelson
🚵🏼 Quality MTB or e-MTB for the day
🚵🏼 Nelson MTB Park extension available (Grade 4 option)
🚵🏼 Expert guide throughout - tailored to your group

Get your riding crew together and enquire about the Coppermine Heli Bike, get locked in for the spring season!

Happy Father’s Day from Cycle Nelson 🚲

Here’s to all the dads, grandads, stepdads, father figures - and everyone who’s taught us that the best days are often the ones spent outside together.

A special shout-out to our very own dad legend, Chris! We hope you’re having a brilliant day and making a few more memories with the people who matter most.

We were proud to donated an e-bike to the Nelson Tasman Climate Forum for businesses to use to encourage their employees to bike to work.

It's all about locals supporting locals! 😊

Looking forward to this, a great opportunity for our growing groms!

Looking forward to this, a great opportunity for our growing groms!

Nelson has well over 200 youth riders who get out and race regularly and we'd love to see you all come along and support the youth workshop this weekend.

👉What: A chance to mix and mingle with some of our local riders who have spent time racing on the international scene, ask questions and pick up a few ideas that might help with your own race journey.

👉Who: Aimed towards teens who are currently racing, but all club members who are interested are welcome to come along.

🕑When & Where: 1pm - 3pm at Maitai Golf Clubrooms.

No booking needed, just show up on the day. It'll be a low key afternoon and we'd love to see you there!

Suggestion: Bring your bikes along and we'll head out for a mass party-train lap of Mr Chomper afterwards! 🚲

SPRING ALWAYS LOOKS BETTER FROM A BIKE 🚲🌼

Longer days. Warmer afternoons. Blossom beside the trail. Lunch somewhere by the water.

Spring has arrived in Nelson Tasman - and with it, a very good excuse to start exploring again.

You don’t have to be a serious cyclist. You don’t need special clothing, a training plan or any interest in breaking records.

You simply need a free day and an appetite for seeing where the trail takes you.

Māpua? Rabbit Island? A vineyard? A brewery? A long lunch followed by an easy ride home?

That sounds like our kind of spring.

With tracks and views like this, where else would you rather be in the world? 😍😍Have a great weekend!Photo credit: Virgi...

A greatful shout out to New Zealand Police for their kaitiakitanga; kindly providing my son with lights when he was spotted cycling home from mountain biking after dark. We have provided him with multiple sets of lights, but he 'forgot' to take them when he went riding after school with his mates. Great to see proactive and supportive policing to keep our tamariki safe.

You can enjoy a brilliant day cycling Nelson Tasman without considering yourself “a cyclist”.

You might not own padded shorts.
You may not remember the last time you rode 20 kilometres.
You might hear the word “hill” and immediately start reconsidering the entire plan.

That’s all perfectly fine.

We can help match the bike, route and experience to your confidence and the kind of day you actually want - whether that means an easy coastal ride, plenty of food stops or an e-bike giving you a little help along the way.

This isn’t about proving anything.

It’s about having a great day out.

Tell us who’s riding and what sounds enjoyable. We’ll help with the rest 😊

Māpua is already a brilliant place to spend an afternoon.
Getting there by bike makes the day even better.

The Magical Māpua Tour follows a scenic coastal route towards Rabbit Island, includes the ferry crossing and gives you time to explore Māpua Wharf’s cafés, galleries and tempting places to stop.

Then, rather than turning lunch into a race against the return journey, there’s a shuttle back to Nelson.

It’s 28 kilometres of coastline, conversation and anticipation - with something rather good waiting at the other end.

We will be running the Magical Māpua Tour all day on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th September - come and celebrate the first weekend of spring (and Father's Day 😉), book with us today!
