⏰ GFA IN THE BAY COMPETITION – ENTRY REMINDER ⏰

A friendly reminder that entries for the GFA in the Bay Competition close with us TOMORROW.

If your child would like to compete, please email us by tomorrow so we can submit all entries on Friday.

When emailing, please include:
🤸 Gymnast’s name
🤸 Which event(s) they would like to enter:
• Artistic Gymnastics
• Tumbling
🤸 Their School Gymsports category/level (if applicable), so we can enter them in the appropriate division.

📅 Competition Dates:
• Saturday 4th July – Tumbling Competition
• Sunday 5th July – Artistic Gymnastics Competition

This is a fantastic recreational competition with a fun and supportive atmosphere, music, games, spot prizes and plenty of opportunities for gymnasts to gain competition experience and confidence.

We’d love to see a great Matamata Gymnastics Club team attending! 💙

🌈 GFA IN THE BAY COMPETITION – ENTRIES OPEN 🌈

We would love to see a team from Matamata Gymnastics Club head to the GFA in the Bay Competition this July! 🤸‍♀️✨

📅 Competition Dates:
Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th July 2026

This is a fun and supportive recreational competition with an awesome atmosphere, music, games, spot prizes, photo opportunities and more!

Gymnasts from our club can enter the following codes:
🤸 Artistic Gymnastics
🎪 Trampoline
🔄 Tumbling

🌈 Theme: UNITED COLOURS
Athletes are encouraged to dress in club colours and help create a colourful, high-energy event celebrating one community united through gymsports.

For Artistic Gymnastics, gymnasts will compete across 4 apparatus: Floor, Vault, Uneven Bars, Parallel Bars, Beam, High Bar, Rings

Gymnasts are welcome to perform their School Gymsports routines.

💰 Entry Fees:
• $45 first code
• $20 additional codes

⏰ IMPORTANT:
Please let us know by THURSDAY 4TH JUNE if your gymnast would like to enter, as entries must be submitted by Friday 5th June.

🤸‍♀️ Reminder for our Intermediate-aged gymnasts and families! 🏅

Gymnastics is one of the individual sports available at the Zespri AIMS Games and entries are made through the school.

We would love to see more Matamata gymnasts take up this opportunity to represent their school at a national event 💙

Matamata Gymnastics Club is very happy to support any gymnasts entering AIMS with training, routine preparation, and practice leading up to the competition.

If your child is interested, please make sure you register your interest with Matamata Intermediate School before 22 May.

🤸‍♀️ SHAPE Values Award 🤸‍♂️

A big congratulations to Arabella on receiving a recent SHAPE Values Award 👏

Arabella was recognised for showing both Perseverance and Effort — every week she shows up, works hard, and gives it her all. Her commitment and determination are fantastic to see, and she is a great example for others in the gym 💙

🌊🐠 Ocean Adventure Day at Preschool Gymnastics! 🐬🫧

This week our little sea creatures are diving into an Under the Sea adventure!

We’ll be tiptoeing past coral, jumping like dolphins, popping bubbles, and exploring our very own ocean playground 🪸✨

Its all about learning through play, building skills, and having lots of fun along the way 🌈

We can’t wait to see our little sea creatures in action!

🤸‍♀️ Our First SHAPE Values Award 🤸‍♂️

Last night we were so excited to give out our very first SHAPE Values Award at Matamata Gymnastics! 🎉

A huge congratulations to Kitiara Le Pit, who was recognised for H – Help Our Club 👏

Without a doubt, every single week Kitiara is there helping with equipment pack down. Her willingness to pitch in and support the club does not go unnoticed, and she is a fantastic example of what it means to give back 💙

Kitiara chose an Opal Hot Springs & Holiday Park pool voucher as her reward — thank you to Opal Hot Springs for your support of our club 💦

🎉🤸‍♀️ What a start to Term 2!

It was a big first day back with lots of new faces joining us — which made for a slightly chaotic Session One 😅 but plenty of energy and excitement on the floor!

Next week we’ll have everyone settled into their groups with assigned coaches and get into the rhythm for the term.

Same time, same place… maybe slightly less chaos? 🤣🤸‍♂️✨

Fair Play, Free Swim 💙💦

We’re excited to introduce our new Fair Play Free Swim vouchers—our way of recognising great sportsmanship and supporting our local community 🙌

These vouchers are being gifted to local sports clubs to reward players who show:

⭐ Celebrating Our Assistant Coaches ⭐

We want to give a huge shoutout to our incredible Assistant Coaches at Matamata Gymnastics Club.

These senior gymnasts have been doing such a fantastic job supporting our younger classes—encouraging gymnasts, helping run stations, and bringing great energy to every session. We are so proud of the way they are stepping up and growing in confidence each week 💙

Assistant coaching is a great opportunity to:
• Build leadership skills
• Gain confidence
• Give back to the club
• Be a positive role model for younger gymnasts

We would love to grow this group for Term 2.

If you are a senior gymnast and think you might be interested in becoming an Assistant Coach, we’d love to hear from you. All it involves is coming along one hour before your session to help with the younger classes—we will guide and support you every step of the way.
