A huge thank you to everyone who registered their interest earlier this year. Please note that all players must complete the official registration form to be eligible for the 2026 season.

Age Eligibility: Players must be under the relevant age prior to 1 January 2026 in accordance with Hauraki Rugby League regulations.

Girls' dispensation to play down a grade may be available, subject to approval by Waikato Rugby League.

We can't wait to see our young Raiders take the field for our very first junior season.

🟢⚫️ 2026 JUNIOR RAIDERS RANGE ⚫️🟢

The future of the club is looking sharp.

We’re proud to announce our partnership with as we kit out our Matamata Junior Raiders for the 2026 season ahead.

From our Under 5s through to our Under 13s, these young Raiders will be stepping onto the field looking the part and representing what this club is all about.

A huge part of building a strong club is creating a special environment for our tamariki — giving them something to be proud of, something they belong to, and a movement they can be part of from a young age.

It’s awesome to have local support behind our juniors and be part of something special moving forward.

We’d also like to give a huge thank you to all of our individual age group sponsors who have jumped on board and supported each team. Your contribution helps make opportunities like this possible for our young Raiders.

And a special welcome and thank you to our main sponsor LJ Ho**er for coming on board and supporting the next generation of Matamata Raiders.

Great win in the wet on Saturday ⚔️

The boys still moved the ball around and played an expansive brand of footy despite the tough conditions.

Both of our debutants, Savea and Kopa crossed for tries in impressive first appearances.

Savea controlled the game well from ho**er, attacking the markers and helping us play with speed through the middle of the field. Joey produced his best attacking performance at five-eighth, creating opportunities and putting in some excellent kicks to the corners. Johnny was a workhorse through the middle, making countless tackles and carrying the ball hard with some explosive runs.

The boys are continuing to build nicely each week and the group is looking forward to another big week ahead ⚔️

TEAM LIST | ROUND 5 🔥

The boys are back in action this Saturday after a week off, heading to Paengaroa to take on the Papamoa Bulldogs.

We’re expecting a tough battle but the squad is refreshed, focused and ready to get stuck in ⚔️

Kick-off is 1:00pm.

If you’re in the area get down and support the lads 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽

Following the game the team will be heading back to Osteria Matamata for a small function and presentation. Partners, whānau, sponsors and supporters are all welcome to join us for a catch-up and to celebrate the season so far.

GAME WEEK 🔥

After a weekend off for long Weekend, the boys are refreshed and ready to get stuck back into it!!

This Saturday we head over to Paengaroa to take on the Papamoa Bulldogs in what should be another great battle ⚔️

We’d love to see plenty of Raiders supporters make the trip over and get behind the team. We will be making a few refreshment stops on the way back to Matamata and we would love our supporters to follow the vans home with us 💚

Boys put on a show for our home crowd on Saturday. The community is loving having Rugby League in town 🙌🏽

Weekend off for long weekend for our boys. Some R&R and we are back into it next weekend against Papamoa Bulldogs ⚔️

Tomorrow we’re back at home as we take on Central Pride from Rotorua, who currently sit top of the table.

Big challenge ahead and the boys are ready for it 🙌🏽

1pm kickoff at Pohlen Park - Matamata.
