Congratulations to Dan and Paul Hughes and CJ Shepherd for winning the club champ triples with 2 life's intact. Also to Murray Weal, Murray Eccles and Rodney Dunseath on making the final, some very impressive bowls played all weekend

Congrats to Ladies Triples Champs for 2026 Del Graham, Jill Stewart and Erin Riordan with 2 lives in hand. Runners up were Helen Barlow, Jill Bollen and Pauline Coleman. Was a hard fought match with great bowls by all. Best of luck for Champ of Champs Ladies 👍🏼

If anyone is at a loss for something to do today get on down to Rewa and check out the Waikato Centre Mixed Pairs. Some very good bowlers battling it out. Green looking and running well, thanks to the lads for helping set up this morning and to the wonderful crew keeping things on point from the Rewa Room & Office 👍🏼

What's on this Labour day weekend?
There is no Rewa Saturday club day as Bowls Waikato has selected Rewa Bowling Club Matamata as the headquarters for the Bowls Waikato Centre Mixed 2 x 4 x 2 pairs event.

Due to the high number of entries (54) the event will run from 24-26 October.

Qualifying rounds on Saturday are being played at Cambridge Central, Hinuera, Morrinsville RSA and Rewa.

Post - section at Central Cambridge and Rewa on Sunday.

Semi- finals and final at Rewa on Monday
Should be a great 3 days of bowling.

Brilliant weather this afternoon to get a Protectant Spray on, with the recent rain and warmer weather ahead, we want to make sure we have the best possible surface for everyone to enjoy bowling on.

This new sprayer rig makes looking after the green a breeze, the foam.spots definitely look a bit odd though.

Closed tournament number 3 was today successfully completed.
The Bonus Triples tournament was sponsored by Mini Storage/Wash & Go.
There were full rinks with 48 players (16 drawn teams) competing in 4 games of 8 ends with the format being 3 bowls triples.
After 4 rounds there was a clear winner with the team of Adrian de Haas, Linda Ata and Lauren McLay with 3 wins, 1 draw, 19, ends and 58 shots.
2nd - Peter Browne, Heather Davison and Robbie Williams - 3 wins, 22 ends and 58 shots.
3rd - Margaret McMillan, Malcolm Fairhall and Vanessa Thomas - 3 wins, 19 ends and 58 shots.
A quirk being the first 3 teams all attained 58 shots.
4th - Mike Curran, Paulene Coleman and Prue White - 3 wins, 17 ends and 76 shots.
