MEET YOUR TRAINER | ZOE
From the dance floor to the fire station to the gym floor in Masterton - Zoe brings the energy, the squats, and a Dolly Parton playlist. Here's what you need to know about your trainer:
Q: What did you want to be when you were growing up?
A: A firefighter. It's something I wanted to do from a young age, and I'm lucky enough to now call it my career.
Q: How'd you get into fitness?
A: Before getting into the gym, I was heavily involved in sports and danced right through school and college. When I decided to pursue firefighting as a career, I knew I needed to get stronger and fitter. What started as training for a job quickly became a passion for helping others build confidence, strength, and resilience too.
Q: One thing most people don't know about you?
A: I spent years dancing before I ever stepped foot in a gym. Little 19-year-old Zoe was petrified for her first class, but Sarah Rixtia was there and motivated and inspired me to keep going.
Q: Your coaching style in three words?
A: Supportive. Empowering. Challenging - plus super fun. I'm always dancing and singing.
Q: Favourite pump-up song right now?
A: Wings by Birdy - Logic Remix has been on repeat for ages. Powerful Woman by Pitbull. And Dolly Parton is always up there too.
Q: What would you say to someone nervous about walking into the gym for the first time?
A: Everyone starts somewhere. No one is judging you - people are usually too focused on their own workout. Walking through the door is often the hardest part, and it's also the most important.
Q: What's your favourite thing about the Strength Nation community?
A: The encouragement and support. No matter your age, ability, or experience level, everyone is welcomed, challenged, and celebrated for showing up and putting in the work.
