🌊 Water Skills for Life – Certified Provider 🌊

We’re incredibly proud to share that Swim Tangaroa Masterton is now an official Water Skills for Life provider, certified by Water Safety New Zealand 👏

Over the past term, our team delivered an 8-week Water Skills for Life programme, proudly funded by Stuff NZ and supported by Masterton District Council.

This programme goes beyond learning to swim, it focuses on real-life water safety skills, helping tamariki build confidence, recognise risks, and know what to do if things go wrong in and around the water.

Why this matters 💙
Drowning remains one of New Zealand’s leading causes of recreational death, but it is preventable. Education programmes like this are proven to build the knowledge and skills that save lives.

Every lesson delivered, every skill learn, is a step toward:
✅ Safer kids in our community
✅ Stronger awareness in and around water
✅ Reducing drowning statistics across Aotearoa
