⭐️⭐️ Scent Seekers Club is back on tomorrow, Friday 11th September at 12.30pm!

Here are 2 of our fabulous sniffers doing some lovely finds last Friday at Pukekawa Park in Waikanae.

This week we have been super lucky to be able to set up some searches at Ohau Wines! Tractors, interior searches and tons of fabulous sites for hides!

Let me know what odours you would like to search for - Clove, Birch, Cedar, Lemongrass.

☕️Sometimes it’s just about hanging out…

Torin and I spent some time at a café in windy Wellington on Saturday, right beside the marina. Look at those ears!! 😂🌬️

There was SO much going on; wind whistling through the masts, cyclists, joggers, dogs, people coming and going, and Torin was quite happy just sitting there taking it all in.

He watched. He sniffed. He listened. He noticed things.

And this is something I really love teaching my dogs how to simply hang out and watch the world go by. ❤️

We can sometimes think that socialisation means taking our dogs out to meet lots of people and dogs, but there is so much more to it than that.

New places, new sounds, different surfaces, people moving around, dogs passing by… learning that they can experience all these things without having to join in is such a useful life skill.

I’m not asking Torin to ignore everything around him. He can look, sniff and take it all in. I’m just giving him the opportunity to experience the world without needing to interact with it.

So next time you’re out with your dog, find somewhere you can sit for a while and just watch the world go by.

Sometimes learning to do nothing is actually doing quite a lot. ❤️
