With plenty of keen fishos making the most of the cooler weather, now is the perfect time to give your gear a little TLC.

A few simple maintenance checks can save you from costly repairs and lost fishing opportunities:

✅ Rinse reels with fresh water after every trip

✅ Check line for nicks, wear, and damage

📦 Courier Price Update - Aramex

To our valued Jetty 300 customers,

We wanted to be transparent with our community about some cost increases that are occurring behind the scenes and how they affect our business.

We've recently been advised of an increase in Aramex courier ticket pricing. Unfortunately, after absorbing these rising costs for as long as possible, we have reached the point where we need to pass some of that increase on.

This was not a decision we wanted to make, but like many small businesses, we are facing the same rising costs that are affecting families and businesses throughout New Zealand.

We believe in being open and honest with our customers, which is why we wanted to let you know about these changes rather than simply increasing prices without explanation.

What hasn't changed is our commitment to you.

At The Jetty 300, we still value every single person who walks through our doors, shops online, shares our posts, or supports our business in any way. Your support allows us to continue serving our community, supporting local initiatives, and keeping a family-owned business operating right here in Katikati.

While costs may continue to rise around us, our focus remains the same: providing great service, quality products, and supporting our community through the tough times many of us are currently experiencing.

The Jetty 300 is bringing back the Katikati Annual Fishing Competition for 2027!

This isn’t just about fish, prizes, or boats on the water. This is about bringing our community together, creating memories for families, and building something our local kids can be proud of.

The heart behind this competition is simple:
➡️ Kids
➡️ Community
➡️ Giving back

A major focus of the competition will be the kids fishing competition and supporting the amazing clubs, groups, and organisation that do so much for our children in Katikati and the wider community.
The people volunteering their time behind the scenes, coaching teams, running events, supporting families, and helping shape great young people — this competition is for YOU too.

We want kids excited to get outdoors, off screens, on the water or wharf/rocks, learning skills, building confidence, and making memories that last forever.

The Jetty 300 was built on family values, community connection, and creating something bigger than just a retail store. Bringing this competition back is about reviving a local tradition and turning it into something positive for the next generation.

We’re already working on ideas for:
🎣 Kids fishing sections
🏆 Family-friendly categories
🔥 Spot prizes & giveaways
🍔 Community atmosphere
💙 Support for local kids groups & clubs
🎵 A day the whole town can get behind

Jet & Dad hit the water at 3:30am and were off by 9am. Nothing stops Jet from getting out there and throwing in a line.

Now he’s battling a cough, running a temp, and not feeling the best — but he’s still asking when we’re going fishing again. 🎣

His technique might be next level but his heart and passion is 100% what life is about.
