Good news and bad news.

Good news - we found the leak.
Bad news - we have to empty the pool to fix it.

Best guess on an opening date is 2 to 3 weeks away. It will be worth the wait.

The liner is finished and we were looking set to open BUT we have a leak!

Not in the new liner but in an old part of the water circulation system. So unfortunately we have to delay the opening while we find the exact location of the leak (possibly under the concrete slab) and work out how to repair it.

In the meantime, to make you more anxious to get into the pool - here is a before photo and after photo of the pool.

We are away and filing any guesses on how long it will take to fill up?

Pool update. We are nearly done with the liner project. Just handrails to install around the increased learners platform. We hope to start filling at the weekend. The pool hasn't been emptied for many years so we aren't sure how long it will take to fill and heat. Will provide updates.
With the late start, the pool will be open for longer at the end of the season and will extend to the end of April.

The new pool liner project is progressing well. It is going to be fantastic. However there is still a significant amount of work to go and we are reluctant to provide an opening date yet. Refilling and heating the pool when the liner is complete will also take a significant amount of time.
We will keep Bluff informed - it will be worth the wait.

The pool is empty for the first time in quite a while. Getting ready for the new liner which is to be installed over the winter shutdown.
This $220,000 project has been made possible from support from The Lion Foundation/The Eagle, the Murihiku Runaka and Rio Tinto NZAS Community Development Fund, Community Trust South, and Lotteries Community Facilities Fund.
Exciting times at the Bluff Swimming Pool.
