It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Jim Benson, a true Marist stalwart and Life Member whose contribution to the Marist movement spanned decades.

Jim embodied everything that Marist stands for — service, commitment, humility, and community. Whether as a team manager, coach, committee member, president, trustee, benefactor, or mentor, his dedication to rugby and the people within it left an enduring legacy that will never be forgotten.

On behalf of the New Zealand Marist whānau, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Raewyn, the Benson family, Auckland Marist Rugby Club Napier Old Boys' Marist Rugby and all those whose lives were touched by Jim's friendship, wisdom, and generosity.

A life of service. A legacy of loyalty. A Marist man through and through.

Moe mai rā e Jim. Rest in peace.

Huge congratulations to Neil Murphy aka Murph from Hastings Rugby and Sports Club on his induction into the New Zealand Barbarians Rugby Club supported by Dave De Lange last night! 🇳🇿🏉

Being invited to join the NZ Barbarians is a prestigious honor, reserved for those who have dedicated themselves to giving back to the game. With only 420 members worldwide and a legacy dating back to 1937, this is a significant recognition Murph’s contribution to rugby.

Murph was nominated by Dion Waller and Ardmore Marist Craig Glendinning Past president of the Barbarians, reflecting the high regard in which he is held within the rugby community. Well done, Murph

Who's pumped up for this Saturday?

Get your green clobber on, grab ya mates, and lets cheer the lads on!

It's always a special game against our great mates at South Westland, and with the cherished Costello Cup on the line, both teams will be well up for it!

He’s come a long way from our junior rugby ranks to the bright lights of the NRL, and we couldn’t be prouder.

Our very own Antonio Verhoeven is all set to make his Brisbane Broncos debut this Saturday night against the Gold Coast Titans.

We’re all incredibly proud of you, Antonio, and wish you nothing but the best, not just for Saturday, but for a long and successful professional career.

Napier Old Boys' Marist Rugby vs Marist Albion Rugby Club (U13) — Christchurch

Photos kindly sent in by Ricardo Fox.

This wasn’t just a game of rugby — this was Marist at its core.

Two clubs, one jersey, one brotherhood.

On the sidelines, there were no divided lines. Parents, coaches, players and supporters stood together — connecting, backing each other, and showing exactly what the Marist spirit looks like beyond the scoreboard.

Moments like this matter. This is how the legacy is built — not just through competition, but through respect, connection, and shared pride in the Marist name.

More than a game. This is who we are.
