Canoe Polo Spring League 2026

Our Spring League is back for Term 4 and runs for 8 weeks.

📅 Dates
* Starts: Tuesday 20 – Thursday 22 October (before Labour Weekend)
* Ends: Tuesday 8 – Thursday 10 December
* Entries close Tuesday 13 October, so we have time to finalise teams and the draw.

🏐 Who can enter?
* Enter as a team.
* Adults can also enter as individuals, and we’ll place you in a team.

🗓️ Game Nights
* Tuesday – Primary/Intermediate
* Wednesday – Adults
* Thursday – High School

💲 Entry Fees
* Primary/Intermediate: $50pp or $300 per team
* Secondary/Adults: $60pp or $360 per team

⏰ Start Times
* Games will begin from 5 pm onwards (depending on entries).
* We are limited by daylight as the venue has only partial lighting.

⚖️ Referees
* Primary/Intermediate: referee provided by CPHB.
* Secondary & Adults: duty team referees. If your team needs a referee for your duty, we can help arrange one at $20 per game.

A massive congratulations to all of our Year 8 players who have made the Development Team so awesome! 🏆

A huge thank you to our amazing coaches - Isaac, Kaitlyn, Xavier and Te Marie. You are incredible players and coaches, and we know you will teach and inspire these young players so much! 🙌

We also have two awesome mentors, Tim and Paul. It’s fantastic to see you both giving your time and helping out, thank you! 💙

Just a reminder that Hawke’s Bay Champs is on this weekend at Flaxmere! We can’t wait to see everyone there for an awesome weekend of canoe polo.

We remember and honour a man whose impact on canoe polo, Napier Boys' High School, and the wider Hawke's Bay community cannot be measured by medals, results, or achievements alone.

He dedicated countless hours to supporting, encouraging, and developing young people in our sport. Whether introducing a beginner to canoe polo for the very first time, coaching athletes striving for high-performance success, refereeing games, or simply offering guidance and support when it was needed most, he gave everything he had to help others succeed.

His contribution to Napier Boys' High School was immense. He played a significant role in the growth of canoe polo within the school, inspiring generations of young men to challenge themselves, work hard, and become better both on and off the water. Many of those young men are stronger, more confident, and better people because they had the privilege of knowing him.

His influence extended far beyond NBHS. He was passionate about growing the sport at every level, supporting intermediate athletes, working alongside other schools, and encouraging participation wherever he could. He genuinely wanted to see everyone succeed and was always willing to share his knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm.

He was an outstanding and respected member of our community, a mentor, and above all else, a genuinely good person. His contagious laugh could brighten any day, his booming voice could be heard from across the venue, and his presence brought warmth, energy, and encouragement wherever he went.

The canoe polo community has lost a remarkable ambassador, but his legacy lives on in every player he inspired, every team he supported, and every life he touched.

Thank you for your dedication, your passion, your generosity, and your friendship. You will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever appreciated.
